Away league match played on 17 November 2012.
Kicked off at 11:00 AM

2 minutes extra time played.

On our travels the short distance over the hill to Moat Park to play Dungoyne.

We started the game well with Joel Hill still out through injury Matthew Guest again fill in at the back and we certainly should have won this game.

We hit the crossbar early on and Dungoyne headed the ball of their line from a corner which had goal written all over it but Dungoyne were defending well. The in the 16th minute the Referee awarded Dungoyne a free kick 25 yards out, as the ball was put in to the box we yet again for the second week running failed to clear our box when we should have and Dungoyne scored from this there first attack of the game. We kept pressing on looking for the equaliser and it looked as if it had came when Marcus Baron skipped into the box only to be brought down, a certain penalty we thought but to our surprise the Referee failed to award it and he was only 10 yards away poor decision.

HALF TIME:  1 : 0

In the second half we were playing slightly up hill but the boys were determined to get back in the match. Again we hit the crossbar, Cruise Dorrian in the Dungoyne goal pulled of some good saves and twice when we got one on one with the keeper we hit the ball straight at the keeper. Stuart Hannah came off with a slight nock to his thigh so we replaced him with Ben Appleton into midfield, changed formation to 3-5-2 with Jordan Matthew & Brandon at the back and Rhys Mackie & Noah Crenshaw up front. We were going for it to get the equaliser but our shooting boots seemed to be in the changing room. Again we seen Dungoyne clear of the line from another header from a corner and also when Dungoyne got a free kick outside the box Jai Sykes pulled of a wonderful save to tip the ball over his crossbar for a corner. For all the play we had we just couldn’t get that elusive goal and the match finished with Dungoyne winning their first match of the season.

Managers Comments:

We played some good football boys but we need to put away our chance which we had plenty off, Dungoyne defended very well and made life hard for us. We need to work harder boys to get results and at times we have to take a gamble or two.
