Well after a long week of waiting with nerves taken over it was time for us to take on Bryansburn knowing a point would secure the League title.
Conditions were dry but there was a very strong wind blowing down Moat Park which we were going to have to contend with in the first half. We knew we would have to defend well in the first half as Bryansburn would come at us and try and use the wind to their advantage. They certainly had their chance the hit the woodwork, we cleared one of the line but the big factor was Jai Sykes was in tremendous form in our goal pulling of some wonder saves and off course a very strong back four of Brandon, Matthew, Jordan & Jordan backed up by their midfield saw of the Bryansburn on slot in the first half to go in at half time all square.
HALF TIME: 0 . 0
Half time chat was all about how strong we defended in the first half and now it was our turn to take control with the wind and let our football create the goals as there was know doubt in everyone's mind that we could win this match.
The boys showed their intentions right from kick off and four minutes in were unlucky not to be in front when Joel Hills powerful header came of the crossbar. A minute later and we were in front when Reece Atkinson sent over the ball from the right, Joel Hill failed to connected with it but Noah was on hand to steer the ball into the net with his knee; 0 : 1 Ards. Five minutes later and we should have double our lead when Matthew Guest sent over the corner and Jack Patterson rose well to get a powerful header away but it was straight at the keeper. We were now in control and the second goal was coming and it did in the 59th minute, again the provider would be Captain Reece Atkinson as he sent over another ball from the right and it was met at the back post by Joel Hill to put it in the net; 0 : 2 Ards. Instructions was simple keep it going and they did. We put the match out of Bryansburn's reach in the 68th minute when we grabbed our third, yes you guessed it Reece Atkinson was yet again the provider, as he collected the ball inside the Bryansburn box let a shot of that the keeper saved but couldn't hold on to and Joel Hill was on hand to put the ball in to the net and send us on our way to the League Title; 0 : 3 Ards. Bryansburn gave us something to think about a minute later when they pulled a goal back to make the score 1 : 3 Ards. So we took kick off the ball made it's way to Travis Jamison who sent the ball out to Ryan Hannah, Ryan then found Reece Atkinson(yes your right another assist)who split the defence with a super pass for Noah Crenshaw to run on to and Noah went on to calmly slot the ball past the Bryansburn keeper; 1 : 4 Ards and League Champions to boot.
