Lovely day for a game of footy, sun shining, birds singing the lovely hue of fresh cut grass and the delightful aroma of pollen mmmmmmm.
Bourne Blades travel down the A331 for what is probably the closest of Derby games.
It stands at one a piece this season, a friendly win for Bourne and a league victory for the Preds.
Just before the game there is a presentation to Harry, Scott H and Jordan R for services rendered.
GAME ON............................................................................................................................................
And what a fantastic game the boys give the watching masses.
Alright so Bourne should have scored first, maybe but when you sky one from 6 yards then you know its not your day.
Our twin midget strike force of Cammy and Sammy are up against four 6 feet plus defenders and boy do these two like a bit of a fight, they chase they pull they try everything but get nothing from the ref. Cammy scores a cracker but the flag goes up for Sam who is just standing off side but with no interest at all, tough call for the second week running..
Freddie comes out bravely to thwart another effort and that’s pretty much it, from then on we take control of the game, plenty of possession but just the final ball is missing.
Jordan goes close with a lopping left foot half volley, Bucks drives a free into the wall, and Cameron scuffs his shot after great work by Jordan and its left to super sub Max (Mario) to open the scoring as he bundles in from close range.
That’s it to half time and a little chat and change and away we go.
Scott and H deal with the only threat Bourne have really well and rest take of business.
Scott A gets the ball rolling in the second have with a lovely run and finish, 2-0.
Cameron makes it 3 with another clinical finish.
Max (Mario) follows up with another to make it 4 and so total is the play that Freddie is give us butterflies on a couple of through balls by doing a three eighty dummy to Bourne’s speed king.
The excellent Steve then wins a penalty and Cameron despatches with no fuss, 5 nil and that’s it job done. Sam hits the bar with the last effort of the match.
When it comes together we are good, very good.
Cracking performance against a team that we just scrapped a 2-1 win against at the start of the season.
Lovely comment at the end from lee Reading who runs Bourne,
