  Second Match From King George

In match number two Stronstad came flying out of the blocks and took the lead with only 2 minutes on the clock. A corner from David George was hooked in from James Clarke in the 6 yard box to give Stronstad the dream start in this must win game.

From then on it was all one-way traffic as Stronstad stepped their game up and were asking questions of the tired looking Universal Utd team and it was no surprise as they doubled the lead in spectacular fashion. The ball was worked to David George who unleashed a cracking shot into the roof of the net from just outside the area to get his 1st goal for Stronstad and it doubled the lead for Stronstad.

Stronstad had more chances to extend the lead but failed to take their chances with James Clarke shooting wide, Steve Beech heading over from an excellent cross from Marty Tyrrell and Nick Crocker also heading over when well placed.

Stronstad did not have to wait long for the next goal to arrive and it was from the inform Steve Beech. Stronstad had worked the ball into the Universal Utd penalty area where a Universal Utd player was penalised for handball. Steve Beech stepped up and slotted the ball home to get his 1st of the match and Stronstad’s 3rd goal.

Stronstad were playing some exciting football with all players getting involved in the action. The passing and communication was first class.

Half Time: - Stronstad Utd 3 Universal Utd 0

Stronstad went out for the second half looking to continue the punishment for Universal Utd and they almost got a 4th goal. Gary Cowell had got forward before curling a delightful shot that had the keeper well and truly beaten but the ball hit the top of the bar and was cleared.

Wave after wave of red shirts streamed forward as Universal Utd struggled to cope with the range of passing and pace of the Stronstad team and it was no surprise really when Stronstad scored a 4th goal through Steve Beech. The ball was worked forward to Nick Crocker who floated a ball to Steve Beech who flicked his header beyond the Universal Utd goalkeeper and into the back of the net for his second goal of the game.

Really like the first game Universal Utd did not really test the Stronstad back four but a mistake at the back gifted the Universal Utd player chance to lob Ian Privett and the ball bounced into the back of the net to give his team a fighting chance to get back into the match.

Steve Beech then completed his first Stronstad hat trick with a powerful finish. Marty Tyrrell advanced forward with the ball and floated a pin point ball to Steve Beech who controlled the ball before blasting home from 8 yards to complete his hat-trick and make the score 5-1 to Stronstad.

It was then 6-1 as Stronstad showed some more clinical finishing to stretch the lead. The goal came from Roger Campbell as he took the ball into the box before coolly placing the ball across the goalkeeper and into the net for his 3rd goal of the season and the 3 points safely in the bag.

Just before full time David George scored his second goal of the game. A Dan Moore in swinging corner was powerfully headed home from 8 yards out by David George to complete the scoring for a rampant Stronstad Utd as they kept their title hopes alive.
