AC Copnor vs Stronstad Utd
Match report from Steve Beech
The game was scrappy but they scored first after around 18 minutes of action with a mix up with centre back Jeff Needham and new goalkeeper signing Craig Stuart.
Stronstad looked dangerous when they put the ball on the deck and played around. Our wing play was working well but our opening goal came from a good team move involving Lloyd Adams, Dean Barlow and Nick Crocker. Lloyd Adams held the ball up and passed it to Dean Barlow who with a drop of the shoulder beat his man before finding Nick Crocker whose through ball which nut megged former Stronstad player Dave George and this sent Steve Beech through who scored via the post from outside the area to give Steve Beech his 7th of the season (1 behind his 8 from last season)
Stronstad were boasted by this goal but with 2 minutes to go before half time AC Copnor scored again a goal which some Stronstad players that have reported back to me say they did not deserve.
Half Time:- AC Copnor 2 Stronstad Utd 1
In the second half some silly mistakes cost us 2 further goals saw AC Copnor go into a 4-1 lead which caused some arguing between Stronstad players as the inquest into how the goals came about.
Manager Dave “Moggsy” Morling sent Jeff Needham up front to us his height as Stronstad tried to get some pride back into the team and despite some good running from substitute Sadiq Mohammed who saw two efforts go narrowly wide and over give Stronstad some hope in getting back into the game.
Before the end of the game Stronstad managed to get a 2nd goal. Yet more good passing football saw Gareth Colley passing to Nick Crocker who laid the ball off to make shift striker Jeff Needham who then passed to Steve Beech. Steve Beech collected the ball before sending a through ball to Dan Razzell away who slotted past the AC Copnor goalkeeper to score on his debut and give Stronstad a second goal.
