Action From Paulsgrove
I’m not going to do my usual match report as it could get me in trouble with Hampshire FA.
First half Stronstad played some excellent football and defended very well with captain Gareth Spicer, Jorge Morrison-Cooke, Marty Tyrrell and Jon Way keeping the FC Phoenix attack at bay.
Nick Crocker had a couple of early chances but put his chances over. Stronstad went 1-0 up as a back pass was collected by Robert Pearson who turned the defender before blasting home to make the score 1-0.
Ian Privett made a good save from the FC Phoenix striker and then the rebound was cleared for a corner.
Half Time: - Stronstad 1 FC Phoenix 0
Second half FC Phoenix used the wind to their advantage but rarely tested Ian Privett. David George let fly from distance but his effort went wide.
Robert Pearson had a chance to double the lead but his effort was blocked and James Clarke could only find the side netting.
I won’t go into too much details but a foul on a FC Phoenix player 6-10 yards outside the penalty area resulted in a penalty. Referee waved away the appeals. They scored then he sent Robert Pearson off.
They got a very dodgy corner as their player shot wide. Referee awarded a corner. They scored for 2-1.
Before full time Dan Moore had a chance to score but his effort went inches over as Mark Betteridge teed him up.
