Maidenhead Crown FC 10 –0Shooting Staines FC / Sunday Morning Thames Valley Football League / Division 3
After being knocked out of the cup last week, it was back too league action this week against a struggling Shooting Staines Side.
There is a reason why the opposition are bottom of the league with only 1 win this season, and we soon found out why and took full advantage of this.
For the first time this season we move into 2nd in the league.
Yet another fast start saw forward STEVEN EATON score with a good finish after being put through by Captain JAMES MURDOCH.
Forward STEVEN EATON then turned provider to set MATTHEW HILLIER to make the scoreline 2-0 with about 5mnts played.
After 20mnts JAMES MURDOCH scored with a short range finish after PAUL NEWPORT headed back across the area.
22mnts played, STEVEN EATON scored again, assisted by his brother KENNY EATON.
JAMES MURDOCH made it 5-0 after 35mnts, yet another assist by STEVEN EATON.
5mnts later JAMES MURDOCH completed his hat-trick in style, a good ball into the area by MATTHEW HILLIER saw MURDOCH come flying in with a superb diving header.
This was to be all for the first half, the opposition surely just playing for pride now. For us, it was a case of keeping our clean sheet intact.
HALFTIME 6 - 0
After a slow start to the second half, on the hour mark, STEVEN EATON completed his hat-trick with a good finish to make the score 7-0
MATTHEW HILLIER then scored his second of the match after yet another good pass by JAMES MURDOCH.
On the 70th mnt, man of the match STEVEN EATON scored his 4th goal, with the assist by, yet again JAMES MURDOCH.
There was even time on the 80th mnt for the opposition defender to put one in his own net under pressure by sub DANIEL CLARKE. The score now 10-0
It was superb to watch, but the opposition were poor and allowed us to play our style of football and they just couldn’t handle us.
Another league game this Sunday away to COMPASSES FC, judging by their results they are very inconsistent. This will be a tough test but one we hope we can pass and keep climbing up the league table.
