We started off the way we finished last week getting the slow start to our game well out the way getting out the blocks quick putting the opposition under pressure from the first whistle.
Starting and finishing off with a 4-5-1 formation we looked alot more settled and more like the team im used to seeing play week in week out.
Even though the game started off a little scrappy being kicked pulled all over the park the boys kept there heads simply consentrating on there jobs and the game,moving the ball around from left to right using the wings and putting in cross after cross floading there box from every oppertunity and it was only after 5 mins that we got the break through with max getting on the end of a goal mouth scramble to slot home to open the flood gates.
No disrespect to the oppersition who gave as good as they got for the first 20 mins thinking it wasnt going to be are day with chances going begging but after 20 mins a ball played through to smithy set him away to score the 2nd which set the pace for anther 3 goals from charlie hitting a shot from just outside the area on 26 mins then on 28 jack latched onto a defensive mistake to smash home a 4th then on the stroke of half time up popped josh to slot home a well taken 5th to send us in a comftable 5-0 at the break.
A little chat from me and darren at half time just to warn the players the we must not take the game for granted that it was still 0-0 and that we shouldnt start getting goal greedy that team work was the key and we should continue to work hard for each other by creating space and oppertunitys for each other.
We again started the 2nd half strong taking only 4mins to get a 6th with kieron punishing there defence in the 34th min that in turn set us on a goal craze scoring on nearly every attack we had with cameron slotting home on 37 mins toby scoring the goal of the day in the 40th min a great ball down the right from lewis with max chasing and never giving it up digging out a pin point cross for toby to volley home to make it 8-0.
Then in the 43rd min anther great team move resulted in max smashing home the 9th then straight from there kick off with the defence in day dream land switching off for the 1st time in the game brendon 66 pulled a goal back which was there 1st attack of the half and most the game but was a warning to the defence that not matter what you cant switch off.
But within seconds normality was restored with lewis smashing home the 10th from just inside the box that again set us on are way with attack after attack and kieron slotting home a quick fire brace to seal his hatrick and make it 12-1 with still 10mins to play.
Pinning brendon 66 into there own half leaving billy will very little to do we were rewarded with another 4 goals in the last 10 mins 1st another goal from our captain lewis then 3great strikes from just outside the box 1st from ollie on 55 mins then josh on 56 mins and finally charlie on 59 mins.
Ending the game and a very good well worked team performance and a comftable 16-1 win with the only sour note being a very sloppy goal from a defensive mistake in which we all switched off but we learn from these mistakes and thats what makes us the team we are.
Lewis was voted man of the match it was a very very very hard choice this week with everyone bar 3 getting on the score sheet and all working so hard from the back right up to the front but it was a choice made by the players which they all found hard themselves picking.
There was also a camio role on the sidelines from are very own callum theobald who i bet was intching to get on with the lads we miss him within the team and hope to have him back with us soon.
