After an excellent showing this weekend in the Leicester City Cup in Skegness, reaching the semi-finals and only loosing out on a place in the final to an unfortunate penalty, Clenchwarton completed the league and cup double with a dominant away win against their close rivals West Winch, with two games left to play.

After sharing the stage at the end of tournament presentation with the legend Peter Beardsly, it was back to league business.
The win was nothing more than they deserved, with Clenchwarton coming out the stronger team from the start. Their excellent performances at the weekend had certainly given them confidence, and it showed. In the first couple of minutes, the Oranges kept the ball, stroking it around pitch, with everyone looking comfortable in possession. Midfielders Jordan Turner, Ed Brown, Josh Chilvers, Kyle Turvey and Lewis Jeavons worked hard to ensure there was always a pass available.
Eventually, after only 11 minutes, that confident play turned in to the first goal of the game. Midfield knocked the ball around, eventually getting it out wide to Kodie Turvey. He took the ball to the by-line and then crossed it in to the back post, where Luke Reed volleyed it home from close range. 0 - 1
Jordan Turner almost doubled the score just before the break with a long range effort from 30 yards out. He collected the ball and pushed it to his right. It sat up nicely for him. He smashed the ball goalwards and it looked like it was going to go in, only for the keeper to get his fingers to it, tipping it over the bar.
Half Time : 0 - 1
The second half played out in pretty much the same fashion, although West Winch started to grow in to the game more, with the odd break testing the back three of Karl Brown, Robbie Rose and Alex Havers. Brad Palmer was called in to action a couple of times, although never really had a shot on target to deal with.
On 62 minutes there was some confusion over a free kick. The players all thought it went to West Winch. However, Jordan Turner quickly switched on to the opportunity when the referee indicated that the kick had actually gone to the away side. Jordan shouted to Kodie, who immediately started to run. Jordan slid the ball through to him and then watched, along with the rest of us, as he unleashed a shot at goal, only to see it come crashing off the crossbar and out to safety.
However, 6 minutes later Clenchwarton finally put the ball in the back of the net for their second goal. Lewis Jeavon collected the ball out on the right. He lobbed the ball in to the box, where Josh Murray leapt for the ball with the keeper, putting him off enough to miss the ball and allow it in to the net. It was no more than Lewis deserved after a very hard working display, and a very unjust yellow card. 0 - 2
Max Gill and Ryan Pell came on to help see the game out, with Max Gill almost getting on to the scoresheet near the end.
West Winch looked weary by the end of the game, with the passing from Clenchwarton taking its toll on them. The game eventually finished, with the final whistle signalling the League title had been won.
Well Done boys. You've certainly deserved this achievement, along with managers Wayne Turvey and Liam Reed, who's hard work and commitment to the boys is well appreciated by the parents and the boys.
Championees!!!
