Carluke Thistle 2 - 4 Wishaw Athletic
Everyone had a little slow to start but soon started to wake up producing some chances from corners and a few cleared off the line. The defence and midfield were pressured but all did well to settle play and counter. We took the lead through Martin Clark after a great through ball from Gary which was finished well into the bottom left corner. It didn't take long for the second goal to come after a assist from Lee for Danny to tap in maki...ng it 2-0, more chances were created as the half drew to a close and passing, movement of players was showing their was more goals in this game. Second half started the way it ended great passing movement leading to a chipped ball into Danny Love by Lee which was finished at a tight angle to the left hand side of the goal with acrobatic left foot volley to make it 3-0. A few changes Sean Gaffney and James McGhee coming on for Gistel Bjorn and Gary on the wings still a number of opportunities were created but nothing taken. Carluke pulling one back and then a further goal making it 3-2 put us under pressure; pressure we shouldn't of been under and the game was wrapped up by Lee after Danny squared the ball to Lee Thomson who took a touch to the side before finishing it making it 4-2. A lot of good performances on show today from Darren, Alistair Lannigan especially at the back, James Martin in between the sticks, Lee Knox and Lee in the middle, Danny and Martin upfront. This is a difficult decision to make as I said a lot of outstanding performances today from everyone especially seeing the game out till the end.
