Quinton Football Club 3 - 3 Badsey Rangers Reserves

As Quinton headed into their second game of the season spirits were high. Quinton playing at home for the first time this season faced a Badsey team which had suffered a 5-2 defeat on the opening day of the season to the hands of Welford on Avon, although creating a lot of good chances Quinton found themselves trailing Badsey after the visitors took the lead mid way through the first half. Despite falling behind Quinton pressed for the equaliser with many chances on goal from team moves and set pieces, eventually just before the break the pressure paid off with Jonathan Guest heading the ball in at the back post from a well delivered corner from Nathan Clifford.

The second half started with Quinton still applying the pressure and soon found themselves taking the lead with James Land volleying home a Tom Drinkwater cross, the Q's second of the day ending his personal goal drought. Again Quinton created a lot of forward pressure and found themselves taking a 3-1 lead with James Land proving the lightning really can strike twice as he put away his second of the day after a well worked team goal (Nathan Clifford assist).

With Quinton leading 3-1 with 10 minutes to go the game look decided but unfortunately, poor discipline and defensive lapses lead to 2 late Badsey goals earning the visitors a 3-3 draw. Quinton will feel hard done by with this result, plenty of chances were created and some good play throughout.

Next week Quinton move on to face early division leaders Studley Swan, a tough away match but Quinton will go into this match with a lot of confidence scoring 8 goals in 2 games and still remaining unbeaten.
