Wood hit for six
Myton Jaguar secure a comfortable victory to avenge the early season embarrasment at the lane.
The game saw the return of team shagger Adam Whitefield following his flange chasing tour of northern England. He was welcomed back to the team with open arms...
The game had a continental flavour as Andy Bynon took to the pitch sporting a Gok Wan style cravat. Fortunately for him the referee saved his blushes, citing health and safety for it's removal, long before Drewy would have noticed and rinsed him appropriately.
Following a minute silence, Jaguar started the game brightly and peppered the home sides goal with an array of chances. Before long the deadlock was broken in audacious style as Jez Carpenter, fresh from his net ripper the week before bent in from distance in another goal of the season contender.
Minutes later Jaguar doubled the lead as new found fashion guru Andy Bynon did the donkey work for Kiam Galdins to poke in from a tight angle. Following his outburst in Mortimer's toilets weeks earlier, it is clear that Kiam's scoring streak is limited only to the pitch and not the bedroom.
Fifteen minutes in, midfield stalwart Ian Turley uncharacteristically tried to talk himself into the referees notebook, but redeemed himself moments later rolling back the years with some stylish play. Running the channel, Turley proceeded to chip the full back's head and looped a cross for Kiam Galdins to head in his second in what can only be described as some suspect goalkeeping.
It was four before half time with John Woodhouse joining the party with a cross come shot - Clinical Clive proving the perfect decoy in pretending to head the ball to fool the goalkeeper.
At the interval Dale Monington proved he was no one trick pony, producing some crisp Argentinians - much to the delight of Kiam. There was still time for Clinical to pick up a new nickname during the break which will not be repeated here due to the poor banter in which it materialised.
After the restart Jaguar started sloppy, clearly believing the job was already done as the home side threw caution to the wind. It took some resolute defending to keep the sheet clean and a world class save from Ade Etherson to galvanise the team. A reflex stretch kept out a fierce drive in what proved to be the home sides best chance of the game. Ade's late night intensive Babecast training sessions are certainly paying dividends as his strong wrist was key in keeping the shot at bay.
Moments later the game was put beyond doubt as Kiam completed his hat-trick, latching onto an Ian Turley slide rule pass. His third consecutive hat-trick. The gloss was put on the result as young Kyle then got in on the action in injury time neatly dinking the keeper after a Turley-esque pass from John Woodhouse.
22 goals in 3 games as Jaguar take a break from the league next week in the second round of the Birmingham Vase - a competition that can certainly be won by the resurgent Jaguar side.
Rumour has it that Jez Carpenter still has a mardy on.
Man of the match sponsored by John Ison was Johny Downes. Overlooked again. Thanks John.
