Away league match played on 04 October 2014.
Kicked off at 2:30 PM

Kirton Town come into this game on the back of three straight wins,Fishtoft having not won a game ,team confidence was high, maby a bit too high, because as they say about football,”its a funny old game “ and this one was no different....

Some of the players turned up late, of which i take full blame, taking an hr and 15 mins to get across Boston to pick 3 players up. Getting back to the game eventually we kicked off with nearly all players present,Kirton towns goalkeeper Jimbob was called into action within 3 mins blocking to save a Fishtoft attack, this didn’t help the young keeper as he was already suffering with a swollen leg from the week before, and after making a few more saves didn’t last the whole match.Kirton had there chances in the first half Declan sands with a header and dean fisher with a shot at goal that he should really have done better with, teams were evenly matched in the first half each having opportunities but not putting them away, with midfield battles lost and won by both teams.Kirtons keeper was called into action just before half time pushing a good effort away for a corner from a smart Fishtoft move, half time arrived with both teams level at 0-0 .

Kirton made one substitution at half time bringing niall Larkin on for max at right back. The second half started the same, both teams cancelling each other out, but then Fishtoft seemed to apply a bit more pressure, and after a few more mins they took the lead, when a miss cleared ball out of the Kirton box fell to their forward, who calmly stroked the ball into the net with the keeper struggling to move. Soon after Kirton had to make another substitution as Kyle bates, got a knock on his bad ankle and he was un able to continue so he was replaced by Kirtons new young player Leo burges, who slotted straight into the left midfield position.Fishtoft soon scored another a ball into the box and there player looped the ball over Jamie in goal as he again was rooted to the spot ,this was his last action , as with only Nick Kirkland left on the bench he had to replace the keeper .Kirton had their chances to get back into the game ,with Declan spurning a couple of chances to bring Kirton back into the game ,with their keeper making a smart save from one of them that should really have been a goal.Fishtoft added there 3rd and 4th goals with scrambles in the penalty area.Kirton never gave up though this was one thing that was a plus for the day they never gave up , and after some determine work in midfield Resh Demeter found Ashley Davis wide on the right , who after a few touches fired a unstoppable shot across the keeper into the net to give Kirton just a little hope ,but Fishtofts 5th goal was a good goal with a long range effort ,taking advantage of our smaller keeper ,riffling a 25 yarder into the top corner of the goal ,there 6th and final goal was another shot from inside the box that had Nick Kirkland well beaten, The keeper couldn’t do anything about the goals , and did a good job deputising in goal, Kurt West and Richard Ford never stopped running the whole game ,saying that most of the team fought to the end, the worst thing about the match apart from the score, was the attitude amongst some players, yes I know it’s not nice to lose but players don’t deserve to be slatted by team mates ,you are a team you all win together and you all loose together everyone feels it ,so to argue with your team mates IS NOT THE WAY FORWARD FOR KIRTON TOWN, we have a very good squad this year ,the atmosphere amongst the squad is better this year , the changing room is a better atmosphere this year , so instead of criticising players out on the pitch , encourage them it will help them ,and keep your arguments and points of view for the changing room at the end of the matches so you can talk them through and sort them out ......otherwise Kirton put this game behind you look forward to the next one and enjoy your football.
