A warm and sunny day once again, this always gives the lads a boost as most of the good football is generally played in the sun-shine.
It was the same nine that started last weeks game and today they needed to up the performance against Chadderton who have been placed two divisions above us in the winter League.
It was noticeable that once again we got off to a great start pushing Chadderton back and creating really good chances which if we had taken them we could have been three up in the first ten minutes,Chadderton's keeper was in fine form and kept our strikers out,but the lads kept plugging away and eventually we got our reward with a goalmouth scramble, the ball came loose and Adam reacted the quickest to scrape the ball home.
At 1-0 we were looking the stronger team but it was always going to be a close affair and Chadderton got back into the contest just before half time and the lads came off a bit dejected as they had been the far superior team for the first 30 mins.
Half Time - Heyside 1 Chadderton 1
A good 5 minutes rest and plenty of refreshments was needed, they were told to carry on playing the same way and the goals would come.
Another quick start to the half and we were on the attack once again, Harry chased the ball down and won a 50/50 with the keeper he crossed the ball over and Connel tapped the ball home to give us the lead once again.
It then became a cracking entertainaing game with both teams giving it there all and it was Heyside who again broke and opened up a two goal cushion with Liam hitting a superb half volley with his left foot giving the keeper no chance, credit also goes to Connel for chasing the ball down and Luke for a great cross which set the goal up.
A bit of a mix up at our end let Chadderton back into it but straight away we broke once again and a shot which was going in was handled by Chaddertons defender to give Heyside a penalty. Up stepped Harry to score and again we had the breathing space once again.
Fifteen minutes to go and both teams never stopped attacking and a bit of sloppiness from Heyside let Chadderton back in the game, a final nervy ten minutes came but Heyside held on for a game they truely deserved and they came off to loud applause and cheers from everyone.
Full Time - Heyside 4 Chadderton 3
