Home league match played on 18 February 2012.
Kicked off at 1:00 PM

Not sure what to say, as we totally dominated in the second half, only thing that let ourselves down were the lacklustre performance in the first.

Playing with the wind you would have thought it would have been an advantage, but we didn't capitalise on it. A couple of corners in quick succession for us caused a few problems with Hayden connecting sweetly with his head only to see it cannon off the bar, the ball fell to Adam who was clearly being fouled as the defender had his arms all over him but the referee was having none of it.

We got back into it with some good passing but no end product, Adam had a chance when played though but a terrible tackle sent him flying,he got up and tried to curl the free kick into the top corner but he lifted it just over the bar.

And against the run of play we were suddenly 1-0 down.

If the referee had seen Josh O'Neil getting a boot in the face a corner would not have been given,Josh ended up trying to carry on defending but was clearly injured with blood streaming from his nose and mouth. The upshot of this was the unmarked attacker volleyed home from two yards out leaving Harry and Liam looking dismayed that the corner was given in the first place.

Josh had to come off due to his injury and on came Connel to make his debut up front. Liam dropped back in defence Hayden slotted into the middle and Luke and Adam went onto the wings.

Minutes before the half finished and again players not taking responsibility on who they are marking,we were made to pay and found ourselves 2-0 down. No fault to Harry as he was left facing the striker who had acres of space to pick his spot giving Harry no chance.

Half time team talk the lads were told that it just wasn't good enough and they needed to show what they can really do,as we know they could.

Josh was brave enough to come back on and himself and Liam formed the partnership at the back, Kingy moved to the left of midfield and Hayden stayed in the middle.

This was now 20 mins of trying to score three against the wind, and five minutes into the half Kingy slotted an inch perfect ball to Hayden who took it calmly into the box and placed it to the right of the goalkeeper to get us back in the game 1-2.

Attacks were coming thick and fast and everyone had their tales up now which was good to see,Luke came back on in place of Kingy, and it now became non stop pressure. Liam and Josh won everything at the back and set alot of the attacks going. Hayden was having a storming match bossing the middle, Luke and Adam were now starting to panick the opposition and Connel to say this was his first ever game was running their defence ragged.

We should have equalised when Adam was put through one on one with keeper only to put it inches wide, Connel went on a mazy run and was thwarted by the keeper, pressure was mounting and surely another goal was to come but unfortunately we ran out of time.

Yes it wasn't to be our day,the lads can be proud of their second half performance but need to take a good look at their first half too as it clearly wasn't good enough.

Harry Allen - Again another great display, very unlucky to concede.

Liam Brown - Had a great game in midfield and defence today.

Josh O'Neil - Very brave today and didn't let anyone down.

Josh King - Steady again and a great pass to set up the first goal.

Luke Casey - Subdued in the first half but came out fighting in the second.

Hayden Smith - Stunning performance and a well taken goal to cap of his M.O.T.M. award.

Adam Ford - Played with a bruised foot and was not his usual self.

Connel Mallon - Nice debut and alot more to come we hope.

It's Medlock Rangers next week which are a very good team so let's have a great 40 mins not just 20 please.
