A FEW THINGS DIDN'T HELP OUR CAUSE TODAY WITH LIAM MANAGING TO A HAVE A FIGHT WITH A RADIATOR ON FRIDAY NIGHT,CAUSING HIM TO CUT HIS HEAD OPEN AND BEING RUSHED TO A & E TO HAVE A COUPLE OF STICHES IN,THIS FORCED HIM OUT OF TODAYS GAME,AND OF COURSE THE WEATHER...WELL ENOUGH OF THESE EXCUSES ON WITH THE REPORT.
OUR ORIGINAL TEAM LINE UP HAD TO BE SCRAPPED SO THE LADS THAT PLAYED KNEW THEY WOULD BE IN FOR A TOUGH TIME AGAINST A DELAMERE TEAM THAT BOASTED AN UNBEATEN RECORD THIS SEASON.
NOT A BAD PERFORMANCE IN THE FIRST HALF TO SAY THAT WE WENT 1-0 DOWN VERY EARLY ON,THE DEFENCE OF JOSH AND KINGY WERE COPING QUITE WELL AND WE MANAGED TO GET SOME NICE ATTACKS GOING AND WITH A BIT OF LADY LUCK WE COULD QUITE EASILY HAVE GOT A DESERVED EQUALISER,UNFORTUNATELY AGAINST THE RUN OF PLAY DELAMERE SCORED A SECOND JUST BEFORE HALF TIME WITH A WELL TAKEN HEADER.
THE WEATHER WENT FROM LIGHT SNOW TO NEAR ON BLIZZARDS IN THE SECOND HALF AND IT LOOKED LIKE AN UPHILL STRUGGLE,BUT HEYSIDE MANAGED TO GET A GOAL FROM SOME GOOD BUILD UP PLAY FROM OUR OWN HALF BY BILLY LAYING IT ONTO ALEX,WHO FOUND HAYDEN IN SPACE HE SHIFTED THE BALL TO ADAM WHO MANAGED TO STAY ON HIS FEET TO SLAM THE BALL INTO THE NET....WAS THIS GAME ON....SADLY NO !!!
DELAMERE QUICKLY GAINED THEIR ADVANTAGE BACK WITH A SPECULITIVE SHOT THAT CAUGHT HARRY UNAWARES AND THEIR STRIKER POUNCED ONTO THE REBOUND TO MAKE IT 3-1 TO THEM ALAS THIS WASN'T ONE OF HARRYS BETTER GAMES BUT THE HORRENDOUS CONDITIONS DIDN'T HELP SO WE WILL EXCUSE HIM FOR THIS ONE AS HE HAS WON US MANY GAMES IN THE PAST.
THE BITTER COLD AND SNOW STARTED TO TAKE A HOLD NOW AND IT WAS HEYSIDE WHO WERE FEELING IT THE WORST,BY THIS TIME ONLY A FEW OF THE LADS TRIED TO DIG IN BUT ALL WAS TO BE IN VAIN AS DELAMERE STARTED TO ENJOY THE SPACE THEY WERE GETTING DUE TO NOT BEING CLOSED DOWN AND FINALLY PUT THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN BY ADDING A FOURTH TO FINISH US OFF
AGAIN IT WAS A GAME OF TWO HALFS BUT AS WE KEEP SAYING IT'S NO GOOD PLAYING WELL FOR 20 MINS AGAINST THE VERY GOOD TEAMS OR WE GET PUNISHED LIKE WE DID.
HARRY ALLEN - WEATHER DIDN'T HELP,DID PULL OFF SOME SUPER SAVES SO HEAD UP HARRY SHOW US WHAT YOU CAN DO IN THE NEXT GAME !!!
JOSH O'NEIL - AGAIN ANOTHER GREAT PERFORMANCE AND WAS SOLID AS A ROCK VERY CLOSE FOR THE M.O.T.M.
JOSH KING - STRUGGLED TODAY BUT IT IS A BIG JUMP COMING UP FROM THE B TEAM TO THE A TEAM,SO WELL DONE FOR THE EFFORT THAT WAS PUT IN.
HAYDEN SMITH - HIS ENERGY SHONE THROUGH AND STARTED WHERE HE LEFT OFF LAST WEEK,ANOTHER GREAT EFFORT.
BILLY JOYCE - PLAYED OK IN SPURTS BUT WHEN TO PASS AND DRIBBLE AT THE RIGHT TIMES NEEDS TO BE LEARNED OTHERWISE OK.
ADAM FORD - LOOKED LIKED HE GAVE UP AFTER HIS GOAL AND MORE EFFORT NEEDED FOR THE NEXT GAME.
ALEX WILLIAMS - GREAT CONTROL AND LINK UP PLAY, LISTENED AT HALF TIME AND MOVED THE BALL QUICKER WHEN HE GAINED POSSESSION,WELL DONE AND DESERVED M.O.T.M.
DELAMERE SHOWED WHAT A GOOD TEAM IS ALL ABOUT AND PLAYED FOR THE FULL 40 MINS AND FOUGHT FOR ALL THE 50/50'S. THAT'S WHAT WE NEED TO SHOW FOR THE STANDARD FOR NEXT SEASON AND THE REST OF THIS ONE.
WELL WE HAVE A WEEK OFF FROM FOOTBALL SO IT'S BACK TO THE TRAINING GROUND BEFORE THE NEXT GAME, LET'S SEE SOME EFFORT PUT IN FOR THE NEXT GAME.
