On a sunny but chilli morning the game got of slowly with half chances dropping to Alex Brown and Joseph Mckenna hitting the side netting after driving in from the left hand side , but it was from the visitors corner that almost broke the dead lock when a scramble led to a shot getting of and only a daring save by Damo Sizer kept out the effort slamming himself into the post in the process.
In the 30th minute first blood was drawn when Stephen Chilver played a short corner to Richard May who drove the ball into the box from the edge of the area for Dan Caney to flick into the net from around the penalty spot .1-0
Six minutes later Hemlington broke through the middle and Lewi Mondal played a through ball to Alex Brown who took the ball wide right then cut back the pass for the on coming skipper Richard May who took the ball in his stride and shot across goal beating the keeper hitting the inside of the post and in the net .2-0
Again only minutes later Hemlington scored a third when Dan Caney picking the ball up wide right and played in on form Richard May who dribbled into the box cutting inside and side foot finished from near the 6 yards mark .3-0
That was the last of the scoring in an eventful first half Callum Roulston , Alex Brown and Joseph Mckenna all going close but not clinical enough to finish.
Second half exploded to life and on the 46th minute when Stephen Chilver from right back played the ball down the line for Richard May to drive down the right playing the ball inside to Alex Brown who then played one - two pass again with May before turning onto his left and smashing the ball past the keeper from 20 yards out. 4-0
Then from the restart Lewi Mondal won back possession then passing to Richard May who lifted the ball over the top for Guisborough centre back to crumble under pressure from Joseph Mckenna and Dan Caney and Caney was able to tap into an empty net from 6 yards out. 5-0
Frustration was high on guisborough behalf and a strong tackle on Hemlington's right back followed by a sneaky kick out from the trailing leg seen Steven Chilver get booked for reacting as the Guisborough midfielder went un-punished.
On the 58th minute Joseph Mckenna picked up the ball on the left coming inside and playing a through ball to surging midfielder Paul Jenkins who's first effort was parried by the keeper but fell straight to the feet of Jenkins who side footed in from his second attempt. 6-0
On the 60th minute manager Ste Kingston decided to make all three subsitutions bringing on Ashley Trodden for booked Ste Chilver , Matty Nelson for left winger Joseph Mckenna and finally Niel McLoughlin for forward Alex Brown.
But it was Guisborough who took advantage of a counter when a break through the middle of the park seen a four on three in the Hemlington half but a instead of using the number advantage Guisborough midfielder struck with venom from 25 yards catching goal keeper Damo Sizer off his line and powerfully smashed into the top right hand corner .6-1
This seemed to wake a sleeping animal and three minutes later on the 68th Hemlington attacked with Richard May out on the right side of the 18 yard box laid the ball off for Paul Jenkins to hit low and hard from the edge of the area .7-1
Hemlington went close hhalf a dozen times after the last goal efforts from May , Nelson , Mcloughlin and Caney were unlucky not to finish until the 80th minute when Richard May who seemed to be involved in everything played the ball inside for Mcloughlin to collect edge of the area and a powerful swerving shot followed beating the keeper at his near post .8-1
Straight from the restart Hemlington again win back possesion through centre back Jake Bennett playing the ball wide left for Matty Nelson to dribble into the Guisborough box playing the ball across the 18 yard line to Paul Jenkins to score another hat-trick and making the score line 9-1
mentions must go out to Jake Bennett and Callum Roulston who were solid through out , Paul Jenkins was his inspiring self and Dan Caney was in exceptional form with his link up play and work ethic but man of the match went to Richard May who was just sensational by far his best performance since signing for his current club back in 2011
