The game began in perfect conditions with the earlier spells of rain making the pitch very fast paced affair.
The game started both teams using possesion well and full blooded challenges flying in from all over the pitch proving what this fixture meant to both sides.
Early efforts falling to Biswas and Jenkins and half chances by Nelson and Farnaby not testing the keeper .
In the 10th minute Hemlington took first blood when they countered Parklands very quickly Alex Brown playing the ball down the left wing to Nelson from the half way line who then drove into the the oppositions box twisting the covering fullback inside out and the unselfishly passed across the 6 yard box to the supporting unmarked Dan Farnaby to tap in resembling a scruffy fifa goal . 0-1
Both sides coming close to scoring after the restart and Parklands had the ball in Hemlingtons net twice but only by fouling the Deputising Hemlington keeper so there for the goals didnt stand until the 33rd minute when a long ball over the top from inside the Parklands half seen Ryan Foster Beaten in the air by Parklands forward nodding on into the path of his supporting striker edging past Callum and Mark Roulston as the brothers were both caught on the back foot , trying to catch the speedy forward was futile as he entered Hemlingtons box and shot across the goal beating the keeper to make 1-1.
Hemlington almost took the lead again as Alex Brown picked the ball almost at the halfway drove forward and struck a thunderous shot from 30 yards making the Parklands keeper make an outstanding save turning it wide for a corner.
Second half was wide open end to end attacking football neither side giving an inch knowing a win/loss would decide a definate lead in the title race and if not from some solid performances from Hemlingtons defence and a very impressive display from young keeper Jamie it could of been a whole different story .
In the 68th minute Neil McLoughlin replaced centre midfielder Richard May in efforts of nicking a goal by putting another striker on and almost paid dividents as McLoughin got of a shot inside the Parklands box for the keeper to parry into the path of Matty Nelson but with the ball not dropping quick enough and two on rushing defenders Nelson snatched half volley effort went high and out for a goal kick .
again half chances fell to both sides Biswas McLoughlin Farnaby and Brown trying in might to make something happen to no avail and in the 78th minute Hemlinton made there second and final subsitution after Matt Nelson should of seen red after a tired miss timed tackle deep in the Hemlington area resulting in Chris Marks replacing the ginger wing wizard. The free kick impeccably defended seen Hemlington break racing up field Biswas playing the ball through to Brown who again drove at Parklands defending players before cutting inside from the left onto his weaker right foot striking the ball with venom with the keeper getting his finger tips onto the ball tipping onto the crossbar and out for a corner which was defended well and cleared by Parklands before the full time whistle was blown .
It was a fantastic game with superb effort from all involved again man of the match could of went to every single man on the pitch Ryan Foster Dan Farnaby Anthony Biswas Matt Nelson all having fantastic game and mentions for Alex Brown coming agonisingly close twice to snatching the points but man of the match went to Ashley Trodden his work rate, defensively solid and support down the right flank did not fade making there manager and supporters very proud of his and his team mates sterling effort.
