Another home games this time against Chester relton terrace
The game kicked off and both teams were trying the figure each other out the game was played at a good pace but no chances were really created and no keeper tested. The first goal came the the relton on 37 minutes some good work out wide the ball was played into the box for a easy tap in. The second goal came soon after on 41 and was almost identical to the first goal the ball played in from wide for a tap in. The third goal for the relton came on 44 another ball played into the for Ann easy tap in 3-0. Ten minutes of madness from the shoes looked like it had cost them the game.
Some harsh word said at half time the shoes knew an early goal was vital to get them back into the games and that's what happened on 52 minutes A lovely free kick played in by Liam Oudnie was met by the head of Mark Emerson to get the shoes back into the game. The second goal for the shoes came on 62 and what a goal it was. The ball was played to the feet of Mark Emmerson on the half way line he turned and started running at the opponents taking on man after man, after beating 6 men he hit a lovely strike into the top corner to make it 3-2 , game on. The equaliser came on 75 minutes some good work out wide by Rob Fenwick he played a low ball across the box which was controlled and finished by Dave Wile to make it 3-3.
The next goal came for the relton soon after another ball played Into the box wasn't dealt with for an easy tap in 4 3 to the relton And what looked like the winning goal. The shoes pushed for the equaliser again and it came on 85 minutes a corner played in was knocked down by Dave Wile into the path of Mark Emmerson to hammer home from close range to make it 4 4 full time.
The team showed great character and team spirt to come back from 3 goals down then still have the fight after going another goal down late on.
Got to say well done to all the subs that come on. That's the importance of have a good squad and good players to come on and make the difference , and to the lads that never got on today was great to see everyone celebrating the goals that's what we need and was good to see.
