Away games against Bowburn on a cold wet windy morning is what Sunday league is all about
The game kicked off 15 minutes late due to the ref going to the wrong place. Once the games started it was fairly even in the opening 15 minutes with Bowburn maybe just edging it with better passing.
The first goal came for bowburn 25 minutes in a long ball played forward was controlled well by the striker a bit of skill to beat the defender and a good finish in the bottom corner made it 1-0 to Bowburn.
The goal was the wake up call the shoes needed who levelled to game 2 minutes later a long thrown was flicked on by Dave Wile falling perfectly for Mark Emmerson who hit a lovely first time volley into the top corner making it 1-1.
This give the shoes a bit confidence and the passes started to find each other with both wingers find joy out wide and putting in some good crosses.
The second goal for the shoes came on 35 minutes some great battling in midfield by Emerson winning the ball and playing it through for Dave Wile who finished it with a great lob over the keeper making it 2-1 half time.
The second half kicked off and the shoes dominated the first 15 minutes but just couldn't find that third goal, this give Bowburn the confidence to then push on and the shoes were punished in the 70th minutes giving away a soft penalty which was cooly put away making it 2-2
The winning goal came route one by the shoes a long kick by the keeper missed everyone out and a cool finish by Dave wile give the shoes all 3 points
