Home league match played on 14 September 2008.
Kicked off at 2:30 PM

After the disappointment of a previous postponement and a last minute change of venue, Lakeside were finally able to get their season underway.

The first goal of the campaign wasn’t long in the waiting when debutant Cameron Smith fired in a free kick after only three minutes, after a foul on Luke Hitchman. Lakeside’s continued movement and short passing resulted in Cameron Smith putting Simon Brady through, who made no mistake with a tidy finish to open his seasons scoring account.

Lakeside chances were coming thick and fast and on the twenty-seventh minute Luke Hitchman’s quality ball was picked up by Cameron Smith, who calmly slotted past the keeper to put Lakeside further ahead.

Siddington were given a lifeline when winning and dispatching a free kick from the edge of the area on the stroke of half time.

Second half domination, along with the introductions of Elliot Harris, Freddie Wellfair and Ben Simpson insured Lakeside went home with all three points after a well earned 3-1 victory.
