Today's game against farncombe was yet again another tough one. The spl seem to have got things sorted at last as every game is a tight one.
Farncombe started brightly , they had a few big strong lads and they quickly tested max with some long range efforts. As usual max coped with them comfortably. We then got a hold of the game with Harv,James and Lucas taking control of the midfield. With us bossing the game it wasn't long before we created chances. Harv was unlucky with a long shot, Harrison put the ball just wide after being put through and also hit the bar with a good strike from a corner. Then against the run of play farncombe scored. The ball was cleared to the edge of the box and one of farncombes giants lashed the ball into the top corner. A fantastic strike that we could do nothing about. We then had a little wobble and after a goalmouth scramble we could have been 2-0 down. Only some resolute defending and some brave goalkeeping kept the ball out.
The boys then regrouped and we took control again. Some superb forward play from Harv forced a corner and from the corner a good strike from Adam crept over the line for a well deserved equaliser.
The second half was a a fantastic display from us. Some superb defending gave us a great platform to attack with speed and confidence. We created several chances throughout the half, Harrison could easily of got a couple and Lucas was only denied by a superb saving tackle. Some superb individual play from Harvey saw him beat 4 players and run the length of the pitch but his shot went just over. As the half wore on I was thinking we were never going to score, but thankfully we got our deserved winner. A superb tackle from Tyler was collected by Harv and after another quick break the ball fell to Harrison on the edge of the box and he smashed the ball into the top corner. Only what we deserved.
Max. Super game. Great handing and several superb saves. Very brave when needed.
Tyler. Brilliant again. Superb recovery speed and tackling. Also starting to bring the ball out of defence which is very pleasing.
Adam. Another strong game. Superb defending alongside Tyler. A real rock for us. Some superb surging runs. Another goal from a corner.
James. Great game. Some great passing and worked very hard in defence.
Alex. Growing in confidence. Some very neat passing and very tenacious in the tackle. Great to see.
Harvey. Another very classy game. Some superb passing and was very unlucky not to score. Some lovely skills.man of the match
Lucas. Another all action game. Never scared of getting in the box and very important in the middle of the park.
Harrison. Superb game. Never have their defence any rest. A great finish for his goal and some superb creative play up front.
Myself and Dave were over the moon with today's game. The most pleasing thing was how the boys fought back from a goal down. They never let their heads go down and deserved the win. Every player played a part in a fantastic win.
