Andy Campbell's first senior goal for Tilehurst YM sparked a lackluster YM in to life as they notched their 11th straight league win, bringing their league tally this season to a perfect 6 wins from 6.
Their hosts The County put up a good fight in the first 45 minutes and may have gone in to the break with the lead were it not for the intervention of the post and a fine save from Matt Haines in the visitors goal.
YM were looking to engage their trademark passing game early on but found County dogg'ed and hard to break down.
The second half was a different story however as YM started to assert themselves on the game. Andy Campbell was excellent throughout and it was appropriate that he opened the scoring on 55 minutes. David Gill did excellent to drive past his man on the left Wong where he cut the ball back to Campbell whose first time effort sailed high into the back of the net for 1-0. Campbell, the heir to the Campbell's soup millions, is proving to be one of the shrewdest signings of the summer as he cements his place on the wing for YM.
Tilehurst stretched their lead 10 minutes later after some fine work by Centre Back James Williams resulted in a through ball to Bobby Buck who got round the keeper for 2-0.
Tilehurst were dominating at this stage and it was 3-0 moments later.
County were harshly penalized for bringing Williams down 25 yards from goal and Mark Harding sent an early free kick low to the keepers right to seal the points.
As the game drew to a close, YMs creativity and decent build up play opened County's aging back 4 up several times but the scoreline remained the same.
The Plough didn't play today so YM go 6 points clear at the top of Div 1 West having played 2 games more. Points in the bag over games in hand is vital at any stage of the season and YM, having played OK today have that all important momentum.
