Tilehurst YM 4 - 0 Pangbourne

A brace from Mark Tancock and a goal apiece for Mark Harding and David Gill gave YM a resounding win at the newly built Victoria Arena on Sunday.

It was a game that Tilehurst dominated from start to finish and 4 - 0 flattered the visiting side.

Tilehurst oozed quality throughout with keeper Bindefeld, man of the match James Williams, Mark Harding, Mike Shanks and Mark Tancock all having outstanding games.

Tancock won a penalty early on for YM in the 8th minute when he was crudely tugged back in the box.  And Mark Harding coolly stepped to score his 5th penalty of the season.

Pangbourne were lucky to still have 11 men on the field following a wild lunge by a Pangbourne midfielder on David Gill who had to leave the pitch for treatment, but the referee showed compassion by limiting punishment to a yellow.

Tilehurst had a string of chances through Joe Edwards, Richard Godfrey and Mark Tancock to extend their lead and this duly happened in the 35th minute after a fine lobbed through ball by Mark Harding sat up nicely for Mark Tancock to unleash a fierce volley past the Pangbourne keeper for 2-0.

Pangbourne had one or two moments themselves and forced a great save out of Bindefeld in the 42nd minute.  The ball was driven well from 20 yards and was arrowing in to the far corner when Bindy at full stretch flung out his left arm to tip the ball round the post.

Second half Tilehurst cam out flying again and were first to every ball and put the game beyond any doubt with 52 minutes on the clock.  The ball was fed in to the area by Joe Edwards to the feet of Mark Tancock and his turn and low shot flew past the keeper for 3-0.

Mark Harding was covering every blade of grass for YM and bossing the midlfield, combining well with Edwards and Ryan Maslen, and in the 57th minute Joe Edwards found space in the centre to put the ball in the Pangbourne area where David Gill popped up and steered the ball in on the volley for 4-0.

Bindy still had time to show why he's rated as the best keeper in the league when called in to action in the 70th minute to make another fine save from a rasping effort on the angle to keep a well deserved clean sheet.

Ryan Maslen had an effort headed on to the cross bar and in the latter stages a piece of incredible defending from James Williams saw him acrobatically clearing a lobbed effort off the line.

Tilehurst win again and Tancock and Gill up front starting to cause all sorts of problems so 2 on the spin and lots to look forward to next week.
