Luke - Brilliant with his distribution today caused absolute chaos with his kicks which really eased the pressure on the backline and helped put us on the offensive every time he had safe control of the ball, Really important point with Luke's passing is it wasn't just a hit and hope it was finding the player either out on the wings or Jacob with every kick.
Alex very short return made one very important tackle which stopped a very clear chance for a goal. I think this was a match two weeks to soon for Alex and he will be back after a break but it was great to have him back until the injury.
Leo gave his all made some very clever defensive decisons with Reeve in a position he has never played before and really excelled with his work off of the ball and important positioning. Excellent tackle which released Taaj to push on for the second goal!!
Levi commanding as usual in the middle made some excellent tackles and was a nusiance throughout the game as the game wore on you can see he was hurting as many times as we said do you want to come back he showed his true grit and carried on as much as he could to help the team.
Sartaaj What a debut for Taaj he worked so hard his efforts going forward were brilliant, never shirking a tackle, winning the ball and dribbling forward with it and laying it on a plate for Jacob to finish nicely. Man of the Match performance on his debut superb.
Arthur really really impressed us with his tracking back today this was so important for the team and really helped on two occasions where we wouldn't of picked a player up if Arthur wasn't there to mop up these are the things that we work on in training and it really showed. Cap his day of with relentless running a goal.
Jacob his running on to anticipated balls through is growing in every game he is really starting to grow into the other strengths of a striker with clever movement and making the right choice in front of goal, and showed us all how clinical he can be with a hat trick and assist today.
Reeve we wanted to try Reeve in midfield/attack today but due to Alex's injury he stepped back into the usual positon of center back and he absolutely bossed the game I don't think a single corner got past Reeve on the front post, excellent assist for Arthur to finish and some very commanding tackles and big clearances which again relieved the pressure on the team. Brilliant game
Ty showed us what we have been trying to unlock during training that grit which we know he has got and it showed today getting stuck in more than we have seen before and that is exactly how he got his second goal after a goalmouth scramble and two chances and just bullying his way through to make sure the ball hit the back of the net, Ty's first goal came from a looping free kick and rising the highest to power the ball past the keeper.
Overall we had some excellent play today really proud of all the boys they all gave 100% effort so much so we actually had players asking to be subbed because of how much they had run.
Great first league game for the team and always nice to start with a win the whole team can be proud of the workrate today and deservedly won but we were very tired towards the end and this is due to longer match times (50 minutes) and only having one sub because of injuries
Special mention to Levi I don't know what he was saying to the boys when it had gone out for a corner but he had about 4/5 players around him all laughing and this is what we want to see most the players playing with a smile and really enjoying the game. Well done boys
