Luke played in goals the first half and made one excellent save to tip the ball over the bar and his distribution was superb releasing the attack, Did well in his communication and was talking to his defence. Played out in the second half and was up against some real tough strike force held his position well and had some great through balls.
Alex had a game where he was back to his best for me some big heading and some big last ditch tackles had a bit of a physical battle and was up for the challenge. I think we get the best out of Alex when he is against better opposition as he appears to raise his game to this, like Luke was showing leadership skills by talking with Leo and telling players to mark up. Made a great last ditch tackle before coming off to deny another goal.
Leo very unfortunate with the O.G but these things happen when you are in the backline. Made some natural decisions to drop back and mop up whatever Alex missed out on and the two of them are building up a great partnership at the back which will hopefully lead the way for years to come.
Levi again with a solid demanding display in the middle of the park big tackles and skirmishes all over the pitch very unfortunate that nobody got onto the end of two balls he had played through and put a shift in with his defensive work helping to relieve the pressure on the back line
Arthur didn't really get much opportunity to get going due to this being such a defensive game for our team, had one brilliant run in the first half and was very unfortunate not to find a way through. Played in goals the second half and made three great saves by getting across his goal. Couldn't do much about the goals as one he's not a keeper and two they were top bins but had a great performance in goals and did his shift well.
Jacob again helped with the defensive duties as we were getting pressured a lot had a great one two with taaj and tried to pressure the backline to relieve the defence. Had a great run in the second half in the left hand corner taking on and beating two players and crossing it in for us to hit the crossbar. Did well with his defensive duties and worked as a team player.
Taaj made some great tackles and some great runs in this game and is getting that confidence back made some great tackles to help the back out again and was very unfortunate like levi for his through ball not to find someone on the end of it. Right Infront of us his passing play with Jacob had 3/4 passes and it was brilliant to see
Ty had a great chance in the first half with his battling technique and was unlucky not to score just slightly wide, and again was unfortunate in the second half too hit the crossbar.
Henley was always looking for the pass in this game and it's something we have seen from his last two games he's played it's brilliant to see and his running back was relentless to help out the backline which uses up the stamina and for Henley this is no issue as he has this by the boat load.
Reeve had some excellent clearances today with head and foot, again we want to push Reeve further forward to really take advantage of his accuracy of the ball and his work rate. Made two sweet passes aswell over the top that would of on another day resulted in goal scoring opportunity.
This was a real tough test and we knew it was going to be, we should be proud of how we handled that game as we were unfortunate to go in 1 down at the half way point after the 3rd went in the heads dropped and it's understandable we haven't really been beaten like this before so it will be a good lesson learned for the majority of the boys.
They all worked really hard and each and every one of them were tired at the end of it and we can't ask for more than that from the boys
Some huge positives to take away from that game we are still a new team and these guys have been together 3/4 seasons and we held our own and next level we aim for is pulling that goal deficit back they drew with a team last week that had been unbeaten aswell so it shows that if we have officially stepped up that we are going to be in for a tough but a fight that we can surely be up for.
