Away league match played on 14 February 2010.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

After last weeks epic encounter against Monk Sports in which Sankey Arms lost 3-2, they wanted to get back to winning ways. Sean Mcfarlane made 4 changes from last weeks defeat bringing in Matt Foster, Mike Mcfarlane, Phil Briers & Rob Owens and players to miss out were Scott Deans, Dan Rushton, Roy Sweeney & Vinny Harper. This was to keep the squad fresh and for others to make a name for themselves.

Sankey Arms started the game on the front foot with Paul Foster making a darting run setting up Stu Wellstead only to be thwarted by the keeper. But after only 10 minutes Stu Wellstead set up Morgan for a peach of a volley which flew past the keeper 1-0 to the Sankey. After 22 minutes on the clock Tony Burns crossed in from the right which was half cleared to Neil Harrison who scored an outrageous volley from 25 yards+ which put the Sankey 2-0 up. Wolf Pack were not causing the Sankey Arms defence any trouble whatsoever as the defence looked solid with Matt Foster very impressive. The game got a bit slow paced and Sankey gave the ball away numerous times but were still on the front foot as chances were missed by almost every player as they were creating chance after chance it was inevitable that Sankey were to score a third by half time, and with 6 minutes to go before half-time Neil Harrison bundled his way through 4 defenders and smashed in a right-foot shot past the keeper.

Half time Wolf Pack 0-3 Sankey Arms

The second half began with Sean making a change bringing off star man Stu Wellstead for the new signing Neil Wearing and within 3 minutes Wearing made an impact as he crossed in for Dave Morgan to bullet a header past Wolf Packs keeper. 4-0 to the Sankey. Wolf Pack had no answer to Sankey Arms fluent attacking play but they were handed a lifeline as Dean Beardall & Sean Eaton bundled over there forward and the ref pointed to the spot. The Wolf Pack number 5 stepped up and Sean made a terrific save down to his right. A Wake up call for Sankey who were starting to get a little complacent. Sean made another change brining off Paul Foster for Ade Griffiths and within 2 minutes off the substitution Mike Mcfarlane Played Neil in down the line, Neil Cut inside and slammed a goal in from 30 yards an absolute screamer. 5-0 to the Sankey. Sean then made his final change bringing off Rob Owens and bringing in old man John Houghton who almost made an immediate impact but there keeper made a great save. Sankey were cruising as they created more chances it looked like being 5-0 until Ade picked up the ball on the right played in Dean who slammed the ball in from 35 yards right into the top corner a superb goal.

Full Time Wolf Pack 0-6 Sankey Arms

Impressive displays by most today but Dave Morgan & Neil Harrison were outstanding and throughly deserved there man of the match awards
