Away league match played on 30 March 2014.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

We travelled to the Hillside Rural Activities Park, Knayton to take on Blue Star in this division 1 match.

The Blue Star team were out early for their warm up for the game and they started the game at a fast pace and had the better of the early exchanges.  The Police were sluggish and their passing was woeful giving away possession all too cheaply.

Blue Stars Ryan Leslie was causing problems with his pace down the right and after 9mins his dipping 20 yard strike bounced off the Police bar.

Two mins later they took the lead when Leslies low right wing cross was hit first time by Tom James into the left hand corner of the net from 15 yards.

Blue Star continued to have the better of the play but Police gradually started to string some passes together with Liam Darville working tirelessly in midfield to get thing moving.

Police were level after 31mins when Michael Gunnells low left wing cross was slotted home by Ben Darville from 6 yards.

 Half time 1-1.

Police got off to a great start scoring in the 46th minute when Sam Vernalls was adjudged to have been fouled in the penalty area by Lee Johnson and referee Phil Scott pointed to the spot.  Vernalls coolly slotted home the penalty.

Four minutes later it was 3-1 when Gary Shardha broke down the left and passed inside to Ben Darville who took a touch and hit a fine shot into the net from 15 yards.

After 68mins it was 4-1 when Liam Darvilles left wing corner was fumbled by Blue Star keeper James Lee and Michael Gunnell poked home the loose ball.

After 76mins Blue Star had a great chance to get back in the game when Gunnell brought down Leslie in the area and Phil Scott pointed to the spot.  Tom James hard shot was brilliantly saved by Police keeper Steve Walker.

Blue Star pressed forward but the Police defence held firm although Leslie did hit the Police bar again with a rasping drive.

In the 90th minute a Police corner was not cleared by the Blue Star defence and fell to Vernalls whose great left foot volley from 15 yards gave Lee no chance and was the goal of the game.

 Full time 5-1.

Liam Cooke took the man of the match for Blue Star with Michael Gunnell taking it for the Police
