It was blowing a strong bitterly cold wind down the pitch from end to end, the pitch was in good condition. The result of the strong wind was many miss hit or over hit passes from both teams.
Glasscutter are the only unbeaten team in the league and for the first 15 minutes they did not cause Hadcroft any problems and in fact it was Hadcroft that were causing the problems. On 16 minutes a scramble in the Hadcroft goal mouth saw Glasscutters take the lead when the wind held the ball it struck the crossbar and just seemed to hover, a Glasscutters player got his head to the ball and struck the head of another Glasscutters player and deflected into the net 0 – 1. On 22 minutes Hadcroft had a free kick and the whipped in cross from David Chambers was met with a free header by Jay Smith but he did not have the direction and the ball went wide. On 28 minutes Julian Probyn was put through and did not realise he had all the time in the world when open and 1 on 1 with the Glasscutters keeper rushed his shot and put it wide. Hadcroft had 2 clear chances in 6 minutes and failed to convert them. On 31 minutes Glasscutters increased their lead when a weak shot that was going to Hadcrofts Keeper Scott Newman was deflected past him as Daniels Shakespeare tried to clear the ball 0 - 2. This is how it stayed till half time with no more real chances created by either team.
HALF TIME 0 – 2
The start of the second half was similar to the first half with both teams battling the blustery conditions and not really creating chances. On 55 minutes the hard working Andy Perry had to be replaced by Mark Winter when he went down with a hamstring injury. Glasscutter increased their lead on 68 minutes when a cross was caught by the wind and sailed into the top corner of the net giving the defence or keeper no chance 0 - 3. New signing Dane Lewry replaced Luke Smith on 70 minutes and could have almost scored with his first touch. Hadcroft did not give up and kept pushing hard but were caught on the break on 80 minutes 0 – 4. This was to be the final score but the gods were not with Hadcroft otherwise this could have been a totally different result, Glasscutter were not a 4 goal better team.
