There have been some great moments in cck Fc history ,cup finals back to back promotions and even the unlikeliest of victories for the 2nds recently against Montpellier villa .On Saturday another match was introduced to this role of honour -not least because the team was packed with a large section of so called squad players but also because everything pointed to a heavy defeat as cck met a team sitting unbeaten in their league scoring 13 goals in three games. Pre match team talk of standing up and being counted and covering every blade of grass looked hollow words when cck quickly found themselves 2-0 down -each goal appeared to stem from a well rehearsed tactic a long diagonal ball behind the full back for the winger to latch onto. Twice it worked to great affect catching the badgers back four cold and breaching the line and leaving the net bulging .At this point you'd be forgiven for thinking only one team was in the game but far from it ccks front two huffed and puffed endlessly although Melville-Reed looked like a player in need of more match practice but to be fair he did manage to slowly get the pace of the game and at least gave the defenders something to think about and Mark Edwards closed defenders down tirelessly. It was debut boy Scott gardener -Lowe who three times found himself in great positions but lack of match sharpness just let him down inside the area but he was showing great promise .Luke reed and Dave Sewell linked up in the middle of the park like seasoned team mates and Dan Preston was busy running up and down the left .it suddenly began to seem together with all the pre match drop outs and missed chances that this was not going to be ccks day .However from one cck attack the away team were awarded the softest of penalties ( or so it seemed ) and up stepped Mike Spence who coolly sent the keeper the wrong way .Towards the end of the half striker Edwards received a nasty gash to his head and as a result about 5 minutes of injury time was played but at half time cck went in only 2-1down .The 2nd half saw cck start brightly and take the game to Huntson and after 55 minutes the scores were level mark Edwards collected a through ball turned and hit a shot that dipped over a dis pairing keeper . Huntson pushed forward but were met with a solid back four of spence ,Walke lush and Cassell and when they did break through this line they were thwarted by an inspired keeper Muzzall . Then came a moment of pure delirium defender Gary Walke got the ball in the area and curled a shot past the Huntson keeper. Huntson Hit the bar with a free kick and keeper Muzzall manage to tip one over and save low at his right hand side .Captain Dave Sewell broke through only to see his shot saved by the Huntson keeper. Attack after attack from the home team was met with stubborn resistance or desperate goalmouth defending and then came the defining moment as a Huntson winger was put through keeper Muzzall came out and blocked his shot the ball was spilled but once again the cck keeper saved the day .throughout the second half Huntson started. To loose their discipline and started berating the referee but they were not going to get that elusive equaliser CCK rode their luck at time but also played heroically . Huntson however, were not going to deny cck one of the most unlikely and most famous of victories and a trip in the next round to County league Uckfield .
