Bishops hit 5 for the third week running in their first match against Leek Wootton since the second coming of Sunday football

Whitey, Joe & Pea were all still injured and Beach missed out due to personal reasons. Adam Trinder returned to the side after missing last weeks game.

Wet and cold conditions greeted the teams and the few hardy supporters that had turned up were soon scrabbling round look for any extra layers as the windchill levels reached new depths. After a prefectly observed minutes silence for remembrance Sunday it looked a pretty even affair with the Leeks working hard and BIFC being a bit too quiet and sluggish. We made the breakthorugh when Jordan's persistence led to a cross for Adam Trinder to outjump the keeper and nod home for 1-0! Still we ambled along although the standard of football improved greatly and it was a killer blow for the game when Benno's disco feet took him to the line and his pull bac was converted from close range by Matt Trinder, 2-0! For all their hard work and nice football the opposition didn't create any chances of note in the first half and were punished again when the ref gave a controversial penalty as the keeper bought Jordan down in the box. Benno put the ball in from the spot for 3-0!  The ref atoned for his error when a ball into the box saw the keeper crash in to Matt Trinder but this time waved away all appeals, Half Time

Cooper came on for Tom Stanley at half time and immediatley started creating chances down the wing. Leek went more attacking and started having a few more efforts as they worked hard to get back in to this one but to no avail. Cooper thought he'd got a goal when his left shot squirmed through the weedy goalie and bounced "in off the bar", but with the ref miles away and linesman in no position to see it was no great surprise to hear the call of "play on". The ref made another mistake when a clear backpass was handled by the keeper but for some reason we didn't get a free kick, most odd and it rightly cost him a point when i marked him after the game.  For most of the second half the Leeks kept giving the ball to Bishops at every opportunity and it was no great suprise when Leek Number 4 inexplicably squared the ball to Jordan to smash home, 4-0! The fifth followed a similar path when the Leek substitute Craig Nicholas planted his header sideways and into the turf allowing Matt Trinder to overhead kick it home from a couple of yards for 5-0! No more goals, but we did keep a clean sheet that has evaded us on other occasions when we should have kept it nil. Nath Carro made a couple of very good saves and the boys at the back did their jobs well

With 7 straight wins in the league, it's a good time for us to have a couple of cup games so we don't get complacent about the league and keep on course for a succesful season

Bad news - showers are broken, good news is we're away for the next three weeks at least so won't have to all go home for showers.

Great spread up the club after the game, thanks to Caroline, Lorna and Alicia for soting it in Pam's absence and well done Titch & Bear for braving the lion's den to do the washing up
