Fantastic game all round.
Barnets utd started from where we left off the week before showing determination and confidence in our play allowing us to push forward on every occasion putting Parklands on the back foot for most of the 1st half but yet again missed numerous chances which could of again put us 2 or 3-0 up at halftime but chances wernt taken?? Approx 7 corners and 3-4 long throw ins were we addiment the goals will come sooner or later, just Frustrating.
0-0 at halftime we needed to continue with where we left off going into the 2nd half and thats we did. On the 55th minute after some more aggressive attacking play Stu plays a long ball which falls to jordans feet (all be it was meant for someone else a mis-kick to say the least!). Jordan having time to turn and pick out the top left hand cornewr with a beaut, Keeper had no chance. 1-0!
Confidence was growing by the minute and we took it to them yet again with matty having another one-on-one which just trickled wide.
Parklands did try to get back into the game and kept throwing everything at us. Having freekick after freekick but never really testing our keeper. All in all our defencive play was solid from front to back.
on 65mins I (kris) find myself yet again with ample time allowing me to send another killer long ball forward. With matty's touch a little heavy it falls to Jordans feet, He turns one way then the other (as he always does, lol) then manages to get his shot off with the ball rolling directly to the keeper but luck was on our side, Straight thru his arms and legs into the net with Jordan unware he'd even scored! 2-0!
With 20mins left to play it was time to calm down and concentrate and try to see the game out with some solid defence play which we had managed for most of the game.
Parklands again kept pressing and with the only defence mistake in the game by barnets Parklands broke free with a thru ball straight down the middle and slotting it home to make it and nerve racking 2-1 with 15mins to go.
A few rash challenges from us started to creep into to our game due to nerves and giving them a free kick right on the edge of the box due to a silly late takcle from behind by Jordan gave them there chance for the equaliser there were looking for... But yet again it was well wide!
Barnets Utd managed to see the game out (thankfully no extra time this week) with a convincing 2-1 much deserved victory with an outstanding team performance from almost all involved! Good works Lads!
