Home league match played on 23 February 2013.
Kicked off at 2:30 PM

Thorns entertained a previously unbeaten uplyme team, knowing that a win would see us overtake them.

We got off to a disastrous start as a simple lump over the top seen Tunny unfortunately knock it past the outcoming Sochon, leaving the striker with the easiest of tap ins.
0-1 5min

We didnt let this early setback affect us and carried on plugging away at them, giving them no time at all on the ball, and using it effectively when we had it.
This pressure paid off and we seen nick set free wide right, he got half a yard on his man and fired in a low cross, which Fish met with a neat finish
1-1 25min

This goal seen us step it up a gear and really take hold of the game, our visitors knew they were in for a fight and struggled to impose themselves.

Plenty of hard work was being done from front to back, and we were truly working as one for large spells, and carved them open on several occasions but just couldn't find the back of the net.
A neat bit of play by Gager and fish seen Harry force his way through and score a tidy goal from inside their box.
2-1 35min

Fantastic stuff coming from behind to lead so quickly against a strong team, you should all be patting yourselves on the back for the fight and determination you displayed!

This reluctantly wasn't the last goal of the half!
They had a corner which we cleared well, but the resulting knock back in seen a few of us ball watching, (like moths to a light comes to mind!) Which managed to get through to the far side of our box with 3 of their men lined up waiting to fire in!

Simple stuff that we can't let happen as in future games it could really hurt us!
2-2 40min

Half time 2-2

We had a little chat about what we were doing right and what we needed to cut out at half time, everyone listened took it onboard and was focused on winning the game! (Great)

Second half we started a bit slower tbh and allowed them to get hold of the ball a bit to much, it was a good job the defence was on-song and kept them at bay during this small spell.

We then stepped it back up a gear and created some very good chances for ourselves, that in an ideal world I would like us to start burying, but I guess i can't have everything!

Then a good bit of play seen Harry put in right side if the box, which seen him hold off the defender and smash it high in at the near post!
3-2 60min

We then stepped it up again and looked like scoring every time we broke!

70min seen john pick up an injury and replaced by Dan winter and Nick make way for Packer.

Dan fitted straight in at the back making some great challenges!

And Packer got straight into the game working their defence hard with a couple of great turns!
One of these chances seen Packs beat his man and narrowly miss with a cool strike.

We carried on breaking at pace and looking dangerous, perhaps a more welcoming pitch would of seen us put one of these away?

Uplyme realised their unbeaten record was slipping away and started loosing their composure which helped us slow the game down and see the final whistle
3-2 full time!

A great great display that seen everyone work fantastically as a team!

I honestly could go on and mention several occasions of brilliance for all of you, so will just write a few as ive rambled on far to much already!!

Ratings 10s for all with Harry getting Motm for this weeks game for his usual effort and goals, he has missed out on it a couple of times recently and deserves it!

Back 4 were great as well Darren won every header and Math led with his voice like a true captain!
John put some lively balls over the top for nick and Harry.
Tunny you got your head up and didn't let the early mistake get you down! Great!

Midfield 3 of Macca, danny and Gager played different roles today with danny deeper, but still produced it every time. Think I might call you 3 Grit, determination and panache lol

Nick has relished his new role delivering an assist or goal most games!

Fish is back! No more needed on that!

Harry we all ready know is our Drogba.

Packer is back bitting at the bit! (You will be let go soon enough)

Dan winter is back from his baton twirling and ready to smash ball and man!

Also top effort by Jake who was unable to play due to an injury, but ran the line the whole game!!!
