Your Goalscorers: C Thomas x 2 G Gremayoko x 1
Report:
Another week, another diabolical team that The Fozzers can't seem to beat. After a riveting performance last week, many had The Fozzers as favourites to beat bottom of the league WMS. But it was certainly a day for the underdogs, as The Fozzers were left red faced. The game started fairly evenly and played as a 3-3 draw for the majority, however 2 undeserved late goals from WMS put The Fozzers in the bin. It is hard to disguise the fact The Fozzers were missing many of their key players, and on this dark dark evening, both players on and off the pitch should take a look at themselves in the mirror.
As always we start from the back with Holloway. After an impressive start to the game, Holloway conceded the first 3 goals with not much chance of saving them. He did well to go the right way after WMS' controversial penalty, unfortunately just overdiving. However, the fourth goal should of been saved and this negatively effected the cat, as he immediately let the 5th in through his legs, with this pretty well killing off the game. Overall a decent performance, but the clangers certainly put a stain on it.
Thomas was strong as always at the back and was clearly the best player on the pitch. With the poor shooting of the attackers, he had to take matters in to his own hands and run the pitch to score two for himself. Its good the Fozzers had him else we could of been looking at a more embarrassing scoreline.
Jack 'Darryl' Taylor made his full debut for the club and had a decent performance. Making some important tackles and good attacking passes. However his touch was lacking and he did give the ball away a number of times, which led to a couple of goals. He'll be back next week though, and can look to improve in the coming weeks.
The Gask-Clarkes once again started on the wings, but both failed to make the impact they have in recent weeks and ghosted at times during this game. Jamal was the better of the two, but couldn't get the shots off as normal. Reece struggled and at times didn't seem to want to give the ball away. Both will look to improve their game next week.
Gremayoko dropped in to his less preferred number 10 role with the absence of Hughes. He had a better game than the rest and scored a goal, but he again missed a number of simple chances that really should of been put away. He clearly plays better at 9 but it's hard with such a limited team selection.
Choudhury started up top and failed to score, although did create a few good chances. Unlucky to put away a couple of harder ones, he filled in at other positions where needed and showed good energy throughout. However, what showed here was his slow decision making can cost us, giving the ball away a number of times when he was quick enough to get the pass away. Substitute Scallon is also guilty of this and did more of the same this week. Sluggish but keen, scallon got involved but rarely troubled.
But the main thing we can say about the above 8 is at least they showed up. The injured Howe atleast showed his face and will be back next week, but as of the others? Who even knows anymore.
The Fozzers fans expect more, and so does the team.
This was the last game of the season and we look forward to the presentation night on Saturday.
