The Fozzers FC 5 - 5 CYS FC
Your Goalscorers: G Gremayoko x 1 J Howe x 1 J Anoszczenko x 1 H Suddick x 1 J Gask-Clarke x 1
Three's a charm apparently... or a draw if you look at the third installment of the Weds 7s biggest derby, Fozzers FC vs CYS FC. Both teams put in strong performances and there was aggression from both sets of lads throughout. It was tit for tat but many commentators have said it should have swung in The Fozzer's favour.
Starting from the back, Holloway had one of his best performances. He didn't really make any mistakes and his distribution improved, including a number of well timed through balls to Gremayoko. The 5 that went past him were good goals, but if not for the wet conditions the big lad in between the sticks may have had a chance.
Hughes started at the back and on the whole played well in his deeper role. He did make a couple of mistakes, understandable with the wet conditions, but unfortunately for the returning star they were game changing ones. His last mistake costing The Fozzers the game. But he shouldn't knock himself too much, as those mistakes dont define what was a pretty good game for the veteran.
Anoszczenko took on the Kirby role, with the man himself stuck on a trial with Leicester. He played with thr grace and decorum we've come to expect from the blond bombshell, and it's good to see him after a couple of weeks off. He stayed disciplined at the back and bagged a cracking goal to open it up for The Fozzers early on. He would of won the MOM if it wasn't for the next man.
Suddick made his long awaited return to The Fozzers after a long injury lay off and played a blinder. He controlled the game throughout, scored a top goal and played well in every position he took on. Next week is the yid lads game before he makes his big money move to the MLS and Fozzers Captain Holloway has declared it his testimonial.
Reece GC took up a starting place on the opposite flank and really had no game time. Scallon brought him off early doors and the lad never really had a chance to do anything of note. We know he's not a fan of water, so scall may have been thinking of his mental health in all the rain.
Gremayoko once again fell in to the 10 role behind his best friend, Jamie Howe. The two worked well together when both on the field, and grem looked to be back to his best after scoring a technically perfect goal. He seems to have made amends with the gaffer Scallon, as they were seen laughing and taking selfies after the game.
Jamie 'Bagsman' Howe did his usual, pressuring the back line like theres no tomorrow. He got himself another goal and could of had more if he'd packed his scoring boots with him, but the lad is the new talisman and the fans love him. A ketty weekend away does not seem to have affected him, and he really is the Paul Gascgoine of this Fozzers team.
J Gask-Clarke and Choudhury came off the bench and GC had a mixed game. Always willing to take the ball and run, he did lose it in possession a couple of times, and although he scored, did miss the target on occasion. Very 50/50 from the young buck this week, surely to do with the absence of his U19 team mate Thomas, who is off doing media commitments in the middle east. Choudhury didn't look up to the same standard as previous weeks and struggled today, although did come close to scoring on a couple of occasions.
Scallon played better than last week, and had a lot of game time, he probably played more minutes in the game than Holloway. He almost scored on a couple of occasions, and is always committed, you can't knock him for that. Although he almost passed it from a scoring position to the opponents being in a scoring position, he didn't do too badly.
All in all a decent performance, and the Fozzers start off their second season with a draw and a point against their big rivals.
