UNDER PAR BUT BACK TO WINNING WAYS!!

Taxi made some changes after last weeks performance, and for the first 20minutes it seemed that his changes had worked. We passed the ball and made space, it looked so easy. Why cant we play like this ALL season.

After a great phase of passing through midfield the ball ended out on the left side with Ben T. We all know how good his vision is, but the ball he produced to Darren for the goal excelled even his own standards. With the outside of his boot he put Darren through on goal which Darren gladfully put away with easy.

1-0 and the way we were playing, everyone was thinking it was gona be a walk in the park!

Our 2nd wasnt long in coming when Bradley with his sweet left boot, smashed the ball on the half volley into the bottom corner, it was a great finish considering the amount of defenders charging the ball down! Great goal for his 1st of the season!

To be fair to Shirley that goal give them the kick they needed. and put us under alot of pressure. Then their right winger produced an excellent cross which left me (Sean) for dead and their striker gladfully headed into the top corner from 8 yards. Ben had NO chance.

Likewise their goal gave us the incentive for a 3rd which came from a classic case of ROUTE ONE football. Little Ben gathered the ball in the air from a Shirley corner and spotted Darren on the shoulder of their last defender. He punted the ball straight over the shoulder of the defender, and Darren ran through on goal and placed it past the keeper with ease. It doesnt matter how pretty the goals are, they all count!

2nd half.

From the kick-off we held possesion well, then the ball ended up out on the left from a cross field pass from Nick. Bradley gathered it in well and after afew step-overs left the fall back for dead. After his mazey run he still had the vision to look up and pick Darren out at the front post to help Darren complete his 1st hat-trick this term.

Shirley got back in the game, when the Ref awarded them a soft free kick about 25 yards out. Gary (captain) asked for an explenation from the Ref and ended up getting booked. They swung the ball into the area and got a lucky deflection which fell kindly to their forward which he slotted home. AGAIN BEN COULDNT DO ANYTHING!

We had chance after chance, but couldnt find the back of the net for the 5th which we desperatly needed and deserved. With the game coming to the end Shirley put us under pressure. Their striker thought  he had scored a consellation goal for them, from 6 yards out he volleyed the ball into the BOTTOM CORNER, (i even thought it was in) when Ben produced probably his best ever save in a Station kit. He tipped in round the post with ease.QUALITY SAVE!!!!

4-2 FINAL SCORE BUT WITH THE CHANCES IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALOT DIFFERENT!!! HOPEFULLY WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!!!
