Home league match played on 08 February 2010.
Kicked off at 1:30 AM

In the opening minuets Vista had much of the play with Matt failing to win the physical and areal battle in midfield however Vistas lack of pace and poor final ball resulted in most attacks ending before they started, but after a few failed attempts at long ball Vista got the ball down and started to expose the gaps between the midfield and defence.

Time and again found space on the wings only for poor decision making or lack of quality enabled View to recover.

The defining moment came 10 minutes in when another over hit long ball from the centre half bounced in the area, slow keeper reactions allowed the Vista forward challenge for a ball that he should never have been anywhere near. He connected and tap the ball in to an empty net.

From that that point things did improve with a little sense of urgency running through some of the team the tempo was raised by View and we started to play higher up the field looking to strike back.

Our best chance of the half came after a quick free kick fro Jay Jr to Levi  found the Vista players knapping on the edge of their  area, as they rushed out Levi played the ball to Pete only for Pete to scuff his shot badly from 18 yards, not that it mattered as Pete was off side.

View certainly had there fair share of possession in the opening half but struggled to created the chances that they had created in previous games. Much of this probably came from of the uncharacteristic play in defence with rushed clearances and poorly placed passes meaning View did not build up play from the back.

The second half was totally different with Vista hardly having a shot o goal, and with Aaron on for Jay Sr due to an injury View were finally competing in the air going forward.

Troys direct running also stretched Vista and game Mike a chance to get forward. More openings started to appear with the increased tempo of the game and with the more composure on the ball. Dan also seem to be on a mission to win the game single handily by being everywhere at once and his not stop effort and energy was a welcomed boost that I feel the team needed in the second half.

Aaron seemed to winning everything in the air and came close a few times, Pete also found himself with space. Midway through the half View went 3-4-3 and Levi went upfront to add some pace and a bit more directness, it seemed to help as Vista dropped even deeper and absorbed even more pressure. However View were unable to capitaslise and the game ended 1-0 .

Despite this loss View are still in the race now 4 points behind Vista but with 2 games in hand.

Come on boys we are still in this and need to pull together to show what we are made of.

Cup semi final next, we know it’s the one we all want.

Notable Mentions:

Robbie for turning up late, getting changed and not being able to play, he still stayed and ran the line and offered loads of encouragement despite his difficult situation.

Brilliant team effort mate.
