With several key players out for a variety of reasons and some unforeseen last minute changes we fielded an unsettled side.
In the first half the changes showed with a lack of harmony and maybe a slight complacency running throughout the side, only some smart saves and last ditch tackles saved us from going a goal down.
In the second half, an inspired display by Shane Edwards turned the game in our favour.
First goal came from some good work from a short corner with Stuart Sutton combined with some quick feet and a pin point shot equalled a goal.
A similar piece of work this time with a cross provided Aaron Munnery with a goal on his début.
Obviously confidence was very high as an outlandish shot from an impossible angel curled in to put the icing on Shanes fine display.
Aaron’s performance was good considering it was his first and he is yet to learn everyone’s name and more importantly how we play.
Also Jamie Sheer deserves a mention after coming off of the bench to cause serious problems for the Tavern.
Good result if not the performance. Winning ugly is still winning just ask any Chelsea supporter!
Well done lads
