Resolven FC travelled away to Harp rovers looking to bounce back from last weeks loss.
The first 20minutes was quite evenly disputed by both teams on a very warm an humid day with Harp enjoying the more possession but Resolven looking the more dangerous on the attack with Grant Morgan going close twice with headers from corners as did Shorty and Glen, Steffan and Wheeler all having half chances dealt with quite easily.
It was 20minutes into the game when the break-through came for the vistors with Harp on the attack with a corner the ball was plucked out of the air by super keeper Speedy and booting an early ball forward towards Wheeler who controlled it just outside the box with back to goal holding off the defender and playing a wide ball to the supporting Jamie Lewis who had ran the length of the field to get into that posistion an after controlling the ball swings the ball in and finds Steffan at the back of the box and brings it down and fires the ball low into the left corner wrong footing and leaving the keeper with no chance. 0-1 Great counter attack team goal.
It wasn't long before the lead was doubled when Wheeler gambled on a backpass from the defender to the keeper who had been playing the ball about dangerously at the back since the start and with a 50-50 with the keeper Wheeler just lifts the ball past the keeper holds off the challenging defender and knocks the ball into the middle of the empty net from just inside the box. 2-0
And it was 3-0 with 8minutes left of the first half to play with Resolven really starting to tighten their grip on the game. The goal started at the back again when Speedy rolls the ball out to Morgan who strides up the wing before eventualy turning back inside and playing the ball into the middle to Jamie who lays of John Bwtt and plays a lovely ball around the defence for Steffan to chase onto beating the defenders to it and driving into the box when he plays a sublime ball back towards the oncoming Wheeler who blasts the ball into the roof of the net from 8yards getting put up into the air in the process with a late tackle from the defender. WHAT a fantastic team goal and a belter of a finish. 0-3
HALF TIME : Harp Rovers 0 - 3 Resolven FC
With Resolven in full control of this game now and Harps heads down with Dai Davies, Grant, Dai Thomas dealing with the odd half chance Harp had quite comfortably and Speedy saving the rare shot also, this aloud the wing backs Shorty and Morgan to push up more and there was more misery to be heaped on Harps day when some neat football in the middle of the park after being played out from the back ended up with the impressive Glen Jones working hard to redeem himself after last weeks miss, played a lovey through ball to Steffan who finished early from the edge of the box low in to the right hand corner past the diving goalkeeper. 0-4
There would be more celebrations not long after when a nice one-two to play them selfs out of trouble between Morgan and Dai.D before the ball being played to Glen who layd Wheeler off who played a lovley first time ball over the top to Steffan who left the tiring defenders for dust and lobbing the keeper from distance who did manage to get a finger on the ball but it wasnt enough as the ball found the net anyway clipping the bar. Another FANTASTIC goal and a Hat-trick for Steffan. 0-5

Harp Rovers did pull one back with an absolute screamer when the winger controlled a ball inline with the box but towards the touchline and hit an unstoppable shot into the far right top corner. 1-5

The five goal advantage was restored when Ashley picked up a loose ball in the middle and going on a mazey run before finding Glen who put another great through ball to Steffan who held of the defender before opening up his body and curling a finnesed shot past the on rushing keeper into the far right corner just clipping the post on the way in. 1-6

There was soon another goal when some nice play down the right wing with Vinne, Jamie and Dan eventually found Wheeler who played the ball just wide of the box to Glen who had found himself in space before finding Steffan with a controlled past into the box and an equally controlled finished hitting it first time low into the bottom left of the goal always going away from the keeper amd to score his fifth goal of the game. 1-7
It was Eight with under 10mins to go when a long kick from Speedy beat the defence on the pasey Sheady ran onto it and went in fully committed to a 50-50 with the keeper and managing to poke the ball into the net. 1-8
It could have been many more with the second half turning into abit of a training session and late into the game Glen played a beautyfully weighted ball over the top to Wheeler who had peeled of the defender and as he eyed the ball up for a chest and volley Dan Wellstead flies in from nowhere and heads the ball wide, the substitute keen to get on the scoresheet and preventing Wheeler from an opportunity of the hat-trick, stick to defending kid.
A fantastic performance with every single player playing well.
