(Match report)
With just twelve warriors turning up for the game, which includes two injured players, MWFC knew they had a tough game ahead.
However, it was quite an evenly matched out game was both sides had their fair bit of the game.
Vice-capt, Weihao broke the deadlock first after receiving a fine header from Ryan just outside the box and he timed his volley which was too much for the keeper to handle after it bounces off the ground in from of him before it reaches the goal. MWFC leads at half-time.
FW managed to capitalized their advantage with their bench and the fresh legs were running everywhere and MWFC couldnt handle the pace. FW started to pour waves and waves of attacks and it was proven successful with three goals scored in the process. 1-3.
Just when all hopes were lost, Shane created a beauty and sent Alex through on goal, he seized his chance and scored. 2-3, game on!
At this time, FW were running out of pace and it was all out to attack by MWFC. As the clock kept ticking, MWFC was raging shots all over FW's penalty box but none found the net. At the last minute, MWFC was awarded a corner and almost everyone was into the box for it, leaving just Clayton and Keegan back in MWFC's half. Melvin took the corner with much grace and it was beautifully crossed into the dead space where the keeper couldnt have a clean touch to it leaving the ball bouncing high and Luther was first to react. He jumped and tried to head the ball into the empty net as the keeper was on the floor trying to recover into position, any touch would be an equaliser but Luther's header was swiped off above his head on the line as the goalkeeper managed to swipe the ball away from danger. Everyone thought that Luther had scored, but instead, it led off to a counter-attack which saw the game ended with another goal. 2-4, such an unlucky moment for Luther and MWFC.
However the disappointing result, MWFC still fought on strongly with the lack of players and Luther whom is new in the team was the best player on the pitch reading the game well and attacking strongly during setpieces. Everyone was amazed by his effortless sprints and tackles which sees him getting his first MWFC MOM. Congrats and welcome to the team Luther, what a way to join! :)
