Another win against Acolytes FC secured a promotion slot for MWFC! Created beautifully by Sam, Ryan sends the goalkeeper back paddling into the net seeing the goal lobbed over him. Edward Lim proves superior edge with another clean sheet added to his record.
Just 5minutes into the game, Ryan found himself in referee's book with a yellow card for arguing with the opponent and the referee himself. Many of times said, just play on with the ref's call. Good/bad call, referee have the final decision and on the pitch, we need to respect that. Adding on with Hanxiang's yellow, this season with just 11 games played, we find ourselves with the highest number of yellow recorded in the league, 20 cards.
First close chance came from a corner by Ryan, sending a quick swinger into 6yard area, Weihao Ng was first to react and flew above the rest and looked determined to net it, however the goalkeeper managed to make contact at the dying seconds with just his fingertips and that was enough to keep it safe from goal, what a save!
The goal came from a loose ball in the middle of the pitch, Sam retrieved the ball and lobbed it over two defender which sent Ryan clear on sight for a goal scoring opportunity, Ryan sees the keeper off his line and out rushing towards him, he then lobs it again and all the goalie could do was to back paddle and watch it go past the line. Great play from Sam & brilliant effort from Ryan!
Kelbanzai Teo won us countless of free kicks as once again proven too speedy for the defenders to handle. However, there is still lots of room for improvement on his other aspects such as passing, crossing and shooting, which these will make him a complete deadly threat on the flanks.
Last chance was by Sam again whom spotted Weihao's run and sent a deadly swinger into the box but was too fast for him to plot a shot, however he managed to retrieve the ball at the byline, sets it up for Shawn who was clear on shot but sees the ball cleared as he wanted to pass it across the area for Kelvin & Benedict instead.
On the defense, Calvin Cheong was doing a excellent job in containing their play-maker and eliminating all threats coming from this side. Ang Peng Chong & Deepak Shashidhra were all over destroying the opponent's attacking play, gate keepers indeed! Well played! Not forgetting Edward whom again recorded another clean sheet for MWFC, the goal post played a helping hand as well which denied a beautiful shot off the crossbar.
It was a tough pick between Ryan, Sam & Shawn for the MOM of this game as all three of them was brilliant with their efforts and contribution to the victory. Shawn was picked as the winner for his superior performance in the second half which shown everyone that who was the real boss in the center of the park. He controlled the game well and managed to secure MWFC lead with his efforts alongside with the contributions from the rest of the team. Kudos to our veteran!
Lastly, congratulations to all Wolves on making it possible to secure promotion spot with all your efforts & contributions in the past few months.
