In an emphatic display of attacking football, Lads Club Juniors U11 triumphed over Weston Youth U11 with a staggering scoreline of 11-0 in their cup away match held at Weston Youth FC on 28 September 2024. Kick-off was at 10:30 am, and the match showcased the immense talent and teamwork of the Lads Club side.
The Juniors employed a 2-5-1 formation, featuring a solitary striker supported by a quintet of midfielders and a solid defensive duo. In goal was Chase Bracegirdle, while Archie Rigby and Romeo Roberts occupied the central defensive roles. The midfield was packed with creativity and width, with Musa Touray on the right, Charlie Arnold on the left, and a central trio comprising Lucas Price, Finn Jones, and Flyn Watkins. As the first half progressed, substitutions continued, with Archie Rigby returning to replace Musa Touray, and Charlie Arnold taking the field for Thomi Scoular. The half was nearing an end but not before an array of attempts, including a saved shot from Flyn Watkins. Minutes before the half time whistle Rigby fired in a cross that found Oscar leaving a tap in finish for the youngster. Weston didn't give up though and fired a shot of thier own that Chase Bracegirdle saved at full stretch pushing the ball past the post. The score at half time stood at an impressive 5-0 in favour of Lads Club Juniors.
Romeo replaced Chase in goal as the second half started brightly for the Juniors, Oscar continued to showcase his scoring ability, netting again in the thirty sixth minute with a well placed shot from a corner, assisted by Chase Bracegirdle.
Archie Rigby then scored his second just four minutes later, finishing inside the box to push the score to 7-0. As the minutes ticked on, Thomi Scoular returned to the pitch, replacing Musa Touray once again, and the relentless assault on Weston continued.
Louis Howells added to the tally in the fourty second minute, scoring after a short pass from Bracegirdle. Rigby struck again in the forty-fourth minute with yet another powerful strike, demonstrating his eye for goal from a distance achieving a hat trick. The score was now 9-0, and the Juniors showed no signs of letting up. Rigby had found a weakness in the Weston arsenal and he was enjoying every minute of it. Archie Rigby hadn't finished though, another free kick awarded with Rigby finding the net once more to give him a fourth. As the closing minutes of the game ticked on Chase Bracegirdle slotted the ball through for Scoular to blast past the keeper at close range. The team then urged Pippa to get on the scoresheet, she battled with the Weston Youth defence on several occasions and with every shot she took the crowd cheered, but it just wasn't her day today.
