In a commanding display of football, Lads Club Juniors triumphed over Westfields with a resounding scoreline of 13-3 in a league match held at Hereford Lads Club on 14 September 2024. The match kicked off at 10:30 am, showcasing the young talents of both teams in an exhilarating display of football.
Lads Club Juniors featured thier strong 2-5-1 formation overwhelming their opponents in midfield allowing relentless through balls to split the Westfields defence open.
From the outset, Lads Club Juniors displayed their attacking intent, with Oscar Jones making an early attempt from range that was pushed past the post. However, it was not long before he found the back of the net, scoring the first goal of the match with a well-placed shot following a short through ball from Charlie Swain. This goal set the tone for what would become a goal-fest for the home side.
As the first half progressed, Lads Club Juniors continued to dominate possession and create chances. Musa and Lukas came onto the pitch in a tactical move and within minutes Lukas Price assisted Musa Tourays wonder strike showcasing his finishing ability with a right-footed effort that left the Westfields goalkeeper with no chance. Oscar Jones then scored again, capitalising on a short goal kick error, before Thomi Scoular netted a solo effort from distance, further extending the lead.
Despite the onslaught, Westfields managed to find a glimmer of hope, scoring a lob from outside the box that momentarily lifted their spirits, which then gave them another goal that shocked the Lads Club Juniors defence and left Tommy Taylor wondering when the shots would stop. However, after the break Lads Club Juniors responded with a goal from Thomi Scoular that Oscar Jones assisted with a defence slicing through ball. The visitor's didn't let thier heads drop and scored another great goal that showed Lads Club couldn't back off the pressure. Finn Jones and Romeo Roberts showed great resilience in the centre of the field and worked passes around the bewildered Westfield midfield.
Goals then continued to flow for Lads Club as Lucas Price scored from a well delivered corner kick, demonstrating the team's set-piece prowess. A predatory goal from Charlie Swain showed Lads Club Juniors had quality throughout the field. Thomi Scoular, who had been a constant threat, then added another goal to his name.
Westfields, now knew Lads Club meant business and did all they could to limit the onslaught. However, it was clear that Lads Club Juniors were in a league of their own on this day, with their attacking play and teamwork shining through.
Thomi Scoular wasn't happy with his hat trick and ran onto another one- two with Oscar to add a fourth to his tally. It was then a well placed long range shot from Oscar that completed his hat trick and two further goals from Chase Bracegirdle showed how the Lads Club Juniors got stronger as the game went on. Within the array of goals Charlie Arnold also got himself a well earned goal to cap off a good display on the wing.
As the match drew to a close, Lads Club Juniors had firmly established their dominance with Archie Rigby and Louis Howells delivering a stern job in defence, they were both key in supplying the attack further up the field. The game finished with a remarkable 13 goals from Lads Club Juniorsto Westfields' 3.
