Kenn Valley played there 6th game of the season this week at home to Hutton
With Hutton only playing 3 league games winning 1 & losing 2 it was open as to what would happen in this game.
Valley began the better of the teams with some quick moving football down the right hand side through Zach Michell & Nathan Preddy however creating only half chances for the Strikers. There was a well worked first chance of the game for Valley when a short corner gave a great shooting opportunity to Ben Stanley only to see his shot blazed over the bar. Valley soon made the pressure count when a well crossed ball from Stanley on the left hand side into the box found Nath Preddy who cut a ball back to Dan Andrews 8 yards out from goal & an excellent finish out of the keepers reach put Valley ahead.
It was a nearly short lived goal when 5 minutes later a through ball left striker 1 on 1 with Louis Vowles. Vowles outstretching leg unable to get the ball & taking the player down gave Hutton a penalty & a chance to make things level. The penalty however blazed over the bar & Valley had a let off.
Shortly after a quick counter attack from Kenn Valley saw Nath Preddy play another great ball in behind to Ben Stanley who found the bottom left hand corner & Valley were 2-0 up. It soon could have been 3 when another Valley break left Ryan Mogg in acre's of space only 12 yards out however Mogg got too much connection on the ball & blazed it over the bar.
Half Time: KVFC 2 - 0 Hutton
It was always going to be a tough second half for Valley with the rain coming down hard & the surface causing a lot of mistake between both teams.
Valley were quite comfortable at 2-0 & were playing some good football on a slick surface with both Ben Stanley & Ricky Smith able to get in behind but not penetrate the goalkeeper.
It was a Valley mistake when a throwing backwards and a misplaced pass saw Hutton Striker finish the 1 on 1 with Stu Wilson. 2-1 & Hutton were back into the game with 25 minutes to go. Valley were now backs to the wall however some great defending to stop the equalizer, a long ball into the box from a throw bounced to the striker only 4 yards out however a fantastic block by Michell on the line prevented the attack turning into a goal.
With 10 minutes to go it was valley who were backs against the wall with Hutton now having 3 strikers. Hutton were peppering the box with crosses but it was corners that were there biggest threat. A great chance for Hutton however cleared off the line by Zach Michell.
Valley did have one last chance with a break away creating a 4 on 2 however Stanley striking the ball over the bar.
A well deserved win in the end for Valley based on the chances missed however it could have been a different story if it was not for some great last ditch defending by the Valley back 4.
