KVFC played there first cup game of the season against 4th division side Burnham Utd A.
With burnham losing there last 5 home games & Valley coming off the back of there last victory with confidence this was going to be David & Goliath battle.
Valley started the game the better of the two teams with Burnham deciding early on to sit deep & absorb the attacking football KVFC offered. With Burnham sat deep there was good opportunity for both Pat King at left back & Zach Michell at right back to push on & attack. With the majority of the play in the first 20 minutes coming down the left hand side Valley were creating some good chance however the Burnham Keeper wise to all strikes.
10 Minutes in & the best chance for Valley was created when Ben Stanley worked some room in the middle of the park, his shot ricocheting back off the post just out of reach of the oncoming Josh Davies who was following up for a tap in.
Burnham managed to contain Valley for the first 20 minutes however a great ball down the Right hand side by Zach Michell found Nathan Preddy who made no mistakes with his cut back to Ben Stanley who finished into the far corner. Valley were soon 2 - 0 up again the ball coming down the right hand side through Zach Michell who played a good ball inside to Craig Clothier who unleashed a fantastic strike into the top corner, The keeper had no chance at reaching it.
Valley were not done yet & on the 30th minute mark with some good football down the left hand side from Josh Davies who found Michell. His pull back found Ben Stanley who struck the ball right footed into the corner for his second & valleys third of the game.
Half Time - KVFC 3 - 0 Burnham Utd A
The second half Valley were looking to start as they had left the first half however it was an unsuprising goal from Burnham inside 50 minutes that raised eyebrows with the ball coming back from a corner out to the right hand side, The burnham striker who had a tough angle to shoot from 20 yards out managing to find the top corner past Stu Wilson in goal.
Valley soon shook themselves down & were on the scoreboard again with some excellent football which gave Ben Stanley some room on the left hand side who found a great ball across the box & an easy tap in for Stu Pedder.
Valley were not done yet & 70 minutes in a brilliant cross from Josh Davies found Ryan Mogg on the left hand side of the box. Mogg Played the ball into Louis Vowles who tucked a well time shot into the corner of the goal past the goal keeper & defender on the line.
With the game now well & truly over & the pace very lethargic there was to be one more chance for Valley with some excellent skill from Louis Vowles who breezed past 2 players, drew the keeper & unselfishly played the ball into Nath Preddy who tapped the ball in to an empty net with his first goal for Kenn Valley.
