Jubilee FC arrived at Station Approach for their third home game of the season against Ware Saviours. The Jubilee FC team was ready at 9.30am but nobody knew ware the opposition team were…
Manager Elton Marks went with the tried and tested 4-4-2 formation. Luke Lloyd started in goal with Dean Freedman and Jack ‘Essex’ Tickner and left and right full back. Nicky Alvarez and Dean Powell resumed their partnership at centre back. Johnny ‘left-peg’ Heather and Josh ‘Flick’ Rogers on left and right of midfield with Saul ‘set-piece’ Charalambos and Matt ‘ Mad-dog’ Brown creating a new centre midfield partnership. Piers ‘livewire’ Short and Marc ‘Barnes’ Farrell led the Jubilee FC line. The Jubilee FC bench was warmed today by Max Charalambos, Nigel ‘50p head’ Ageykumhene, Joe Lloyd, Barry White, David Binder and Samuel Brown.
Jubilee FC kicked off the first half and immediately tried to pass the ball around. The opening 10 minutes were sloppy as Ware Saviours saw more of the possession. However, the team warmed up and a lobbed through ball to Marc Farrell was met on the half volley…but he was unable to trouble the keeper with his attempt at goal. The shot did take a wicked deflection and go out for a Jubilee corner.
There was very little possession of the ball after the corner was taken and Jubilee seemed to be in a daze. A remarkable double save from goalkeeper Luke Lloyd kept the scores level at the 25 minute mark. Johnny Heather linked up well down the right side of midfield with Josh Rogers. Josh crossed a low ball into the box and the shot was missed by Piers Short.
Ware were pilling on the pressure and a shot destined for the top right corner of the goal was miraculously saved by Luke Lloyd. A free kick was taken my Saul Charalambos from his own half and headed in by Matt Brown. 1-0 to Jubilee.
There was only a few minutes left and Jubilee tried to see out the half by keeping possession of the ball. However, a sloppy pass led to Ware Saviours scoring from 25 yards out and equalising just before half time. 1-1 at half time.
Jubilee knew they had to wake up and take the game by the scruff of the neck. Luke Lloyd had kept his team in the half and now the outfield players were looking to pay him back. Manager Elton Marks had a few choice words to say and the team was rallied for the second half.
Ware Saviours kicked off the second half and immediately tried to punt the ball long - nothing that the Jubilee defence could not deal with. Manager Elton Marks decided to make a tactical change early in the second half with Dean Freedman being replaced by David Binder (Saul Charalambos moved to LB with David Binder in CM).
David added a bit of stability in the middle of the park. A throw in taken by Saul Charalambos was controlled by Marc Farrell and crossed in to the far post. The cross was met by Josh Rogers at the far post and nestled in the top corner. 2-1 to Jubilee FC.
The Ware players looked like they were starting to tire and Jubilee turned up the pressure. A wild lunge in the box on David Binder resulted in a penalty kick for Jubilee FC. Marc Farrell stepped up to take the penalty and calmly slopped into the top right hand corner. 3-1 to Jubilee FC.
Just as the game was coming in Jubilees favour a long ball down the channel from Ware Saviours was latched onto by the winger. He came inside and Saul Charalambos stuck out a leg and tripped the player. A penalty kick to Ware Saviours – the penalty was scored and the score line was now 3-2.
Jubilee kicked off and kept possession of the ball wearing down Ware Saviours. The Ball was played down the left by Saul Charalambos to Johnny Heather. Johnny beat his man, took the ball down to the by-line and crossed the ball into the box. Marc Farrell leapt up like a Salmon and nodded the ball into the back of the net. 4-2 to Jubilee FC.
Matt Brown won the ball in midfield and went on a mazy run through the middle of the park. Played a one-two with Johnny Heather and laced the ball into the back of the net. 5-2 to Jubilee FC .
Ware Saviours were tiring and the two-footed tackles were being used constantly but with no avail. An inch perfect ping from Saul Charalambos from inside his own half was hit firm time from 25 yards out by Marc Farrell right in the bottom corner of the Net. 6-2 to Jubilee FC.
The full time whistle blew with the score at 6-2 to Jubilee FC. Jubilee were fortunate to go in at half time level but showed Ware Saviours that in football you have to take your chances when you are on top. Luke Lloyd got the man of the match award for some top goal keeping in the first half. Special mentions go to Hat-trick hero Marc Farrell (let’s hope this team don’t drop out the league as well) and also to Johnny Heather for some fantastic crossing.
Jubilee FC play their next game against Bridge House away.
