Away cup match played on 06 November 2011.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Jubilee FC arrived at St. Marys School for the second round of the League Challenge Cup against Cheshunt Park Rangers. Jubilee had a large squad of 18 players for this game which gave manager Elton Marks a selection headache. Elton Marks stuck with the tried and tested 4 -4 -2 formation. Luke Lloyd started in goal with Nigel ‘50p head’ Agyekumhene and Max Charalambos starting at left and right full back. Dean Powell and Nicky Alvarez resumed their central defensive partnership. Johnny ‘left-peg’ Heather and debutant Karl Jenkinson took to the left and right wings respectively with Samuel Brown and Matthew ‘mad-dog’ Brown in the centre of midfield. Michael Richardson and debutant David Binder lead the Jubilee attack. Dean Freedman, Piers ‘livewire’ Short, Marc ‘Barnes’ Farrell, Joe Lloyd, Barry White, Saul ‘set-piece’ Charalambos and Jack ‘Essex’ Tickner were warming the bench today.

Jubilee FC kicked off the first half and passed it around at the back building up the attacking momentum. Attacking football was coming from the middle of the park as Sam Brown, Matt Brown and David Binder were all taking it upon themselves to take on the opposition defence and came close to scoring on several occasions. Good link up play between Johnny Heather and David Binder resulted in an opportunity for Michael Richardson who put wide. Jubilee were attacking with great verve and the defence dealing well with any attacking threat. However, a long ball over the top was miss judged by the defence and the opposition player ran free and knocked it past the goal keeper into the Jubilee net. Against the run of play and Jubilee were down 1-0.

Jubilee were a bit taken a back from the goal and for the next 10 minutes were under serious threat from Rangers but the defence coped well. A run through the middle of the park from Samuel Brown who beat his man and played in a reverse through ball to Michael Richardson. Michael was tripped and sprawled to the floor. PENALTY!!!! Matt Brown stepped up and slotted into the middle of the goal. One all!!!

Jubilee would sense fear in the whites of the Rangers player’s eyes and went on the hunt for the second goal before half time. Some good build up play from Max Charalambos and Karl Jenkinson resulted in a chance for Michael Richardson but he shot just wide. Just when referee was about to blow up for half time a ball from Johnny Heather was met by Matt Brown who powered into the roof of the net. 2-1 to Jubilee FC.

At half time manager Elton Marks had a few works to say about the work rate of the team. Reminding the players of the bad day at the office last week against the Barge. A few tactical changes were made with Dean Powell going into goal and Sam Brown dropping into centre back. Saul Charalambos came on in the middle of the pitch and Karl Jenkinson was replaced by Marc Farrell.

Rangers kicked off the second half and immediately tried to go on the attack. The ball was intercepted by Max Charalambos who played it to Sam Brown. Sam played it to Saul Charalambos who played in Johnny Heather on the left wing. Johhny beat his man and played in a curling ball into the box. Saul Charalambos who had run from deep scored with a diving header. 3-1 to Jubilee and you could see Rangers were struggling for confidence.

Jubilee were playing with confidence now and every player was after the ball. There was excellent attacking play down the left from Nigel and Johnny which resulted in Marc Farrell having a shot on goal…he didn’t trouble the keeper today. The fourth goal came from some excellent build up down the right had side. Max Charalambos and David Binder exchanged passes with Saul Charalambos making the attacking run and playing the ball to David Binder who took one touch and laced the ball with his left foot into the top right corner of the goal. Excellent goal and 4-1 to Jubilee FC.

Some excellent passing in the middle of the park enabled Matt Brown to go on one of his marauding runs but was taken out by the oncoming keeper. PENATLY!!! There was a bit of a dispute between Marc Farrell and Matt Brown about who was going to take the penalty but Matt Brown got his own way and slotted into the bottom corner. 5-1 to Jubilee FC and Matt Brown had his first hat trick of the season.

Michael Richardson collided with an opposition chasing the ball and fell heavily on his ankle. He was substituted for Piers ‘livewire’ Short. It is now known Michael has sustained a fractured ankle…awful news and he has the team’s sympathy. Get back soon!!

Saul Charalambos played a through ball for Marc Farrell who was one-on-one but unfortunately… he was unable to trouble the keeper today. A long ball over the top from Rangers resulted in their striker shooting tamely at Dean Powell. Dean then kicked the ball long and Piers Short ran on to the ball and shot. The ball went under the keeper and into the back of the net at the near post. 6-1 to Jubilee FC.

Saul Charalambos picked up the ball and shot from 40 yards. Regrettably Saul did not catch the ball well and it trickled like tumbleweed into the hands of the goal keeper. Nigel Agykumhene broke up the play and bought the ball up to the half way line. Nigel played the ball to Johnny heather who took on five opposing players like they weren’t there and shot at goal with his right foot. The ball landed right in the corner and the keeper had no chance. 7-1 to Jubilee FC and there was complete shock in the stadium as Johnny scored with his wooden right leg.

The last chance fell to Marc Farrell from a Johnny Heather cross. Unfortunately Marc Farrell shot was unable to trouble the keeper today.

Full time and Jubilee FC beat Cheshunt Park Rangers 7-1 in the League Challenge Cup. Jubilee FC will now take on TA FC in the third round. It was an excellent performance from the whole team with Matt Brown claiming man of the Match. He was run extremely close by Johnny Heather who’s crossing today was excellent. David Binder has set the standard high with his debut performance and long may it continue. Jubilee FC take on Ware Saviours at Station Approach and will look to get back to winning ways in the league.
