Away cup match played on 25 September 2011.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

After a long road journey deep in to Surrey for this first round FA Cup tie, Rovers arrived at the ground to find a very athletic looking team who seemed ready for a cup battle.

The game started very well and G&S dominated from the off with some excellent football being played. Lot's of chances however went begging and the worry started 'was the ball ever going to be in the back of the net?'.

22 mins had lapsed when Rich was fouled on the halfway line.  His quick mind took over as he immediately got to his feet to dink a nice little free kick to John.  He was unmarked, advanced to the keeper and passed square for Deji  who was in acres to slot home! It was nice for the quick free kick to work in G&S favour for once!! 0-1.

6 mins later and a quick throw in from Chris to Rich, led to a corner being awarded. Again good to see Rovers alert as the ball was whipped in by Rich for Deji to head home 0-2.

The next 10 minutes saw a few chances from Dees, with the ball over the top, but were wasted and nobody put Deano under any pressure at all.

With only 5 mins remaining in the half, John made a clearance from midfield which Deji hunted down.  He hassled well and won the ball from the hapless last defender to calmly slot home for 0-3 and a first half hat trick!! Top job!

Yet again the 2nd half started with the Blues dominant and a lot of good movement down the left handside with Rob, Rich and Ant carving Dees wide open, only for the chances to be wasted.

On 55 mins however Ant was put through on the left handside again and managed to square to Deji who rounded the keeper to tap home, cool as you like as usual, 0-4.

G&S had a small wake up call on 63 however as the Dees left winger, on as a sub, picked up the ball outside the box and made a winding run through the defence to slot home. Should have been dealt with!! 1-4.

With under half an hour to go and the game surely out of Dees' reach anyway, a couple of changes were made as Jay and Rob were both given a much needed rest and no further worry of injury, to bring in Louis and Berto.

On 72 mins Berto, on his competitive debut, was soon in the game.  He picked up the ball in midfield and dinked the ball over the last defender to land on Deji's foot.  Deji fired home this time for 1-5. Go Berto, what a way to make an impact on your debut?!

For the final 10, Deji was given a deserved breather after yet another Man of the Match performance, to allow the ever eager Mosh to come in to inject some fresh legs.

With only a few minutes remaining, Adam made a long pass (it was not a clearance we are told, definitely a pass!?) to Russell who calmly slotted home. Much deserved for his persistence throughout the game!

1-6 it was and that is how it stayed.  On to round 2!!
