With a change of 4-5-1 formation and with no City goalkeeper in sight, an unknown Noor Mohd was called upon between the sticks. Returning Hafiz starts as right back, Ryan partnering Jelson as centre back while Eddy who was named captain, at left back. Indra and Zahrul again holds the midfield, the wings are taken up by Anon and Danial and Duncan playing off lone striker Bob. On the bench, City have Ridwan, Airul and Hakim to be called upon.
A sloppy start from City saw the opponent take the lead within 5 mins via a simple tap in. That's a wake up call to City players as they started to move forward and with loads of possession, City almost scored when Bob's lob scrapped past the crossbar. Indra deserves the credit for the splitting pass. Ryan influential at the back together with Jelson gave the opponents to just sniffing of the ball. Zahrul Bahri also general up the centre of midfield, stopping and breaking up Rangers play. He also had an opportunity to equalise for City but shoots wide.
With that work ethic, City equalised in the 26th min, receiving a pass down the right. Bob beats his marker and lay a wonderful tempting cross to Danial who finishes off from close range.
City who had far better possession failed to capitalize on Rangers and it stayed 1-1 at halftime. Second half, Airul was brought on for Anon with Bob pushing as right midfield. 7 minutes after the restart, City leads.
Bob starts the move again, sending Duncan thru who skips past the goalkeeper and did the unthinkable by scoring from an acute angle. 2-1 they lead.
49th min, Duncan returns Bob the favour when his thru ball send City's top scorer to notch his 7th of the season.
City were not done yet. Rangers do not know what hit them, as Airul scored from yet another assist from Duncan.
That prompt Ridwan to make changes yet again bringing on Hakim for Hafiz and Anon for Danial.
Airul nearly make it 5 but saw his header bounces off the crossbar.
Ridwan went on to replace Bob pushing Zahrul to central back.
Opponents pull a goal in the 59th minute and threaten to score but the excellent back four denies them every single attempt on goal.
Anon had two glorious opportunity to score but both attempts were off target. City held on for the win.
Ridwan commented after the match," It's a great win. Excellent performance by the lads. It's good that Danial has found his feet at the club. Jelson was also excellent as central back.
