Bramford United 6-2 Wickham Market
Bramford had their first home game of the season against Hadleigh called off the week before so after a week rested and re-freshed, United welcomed Wickham Market to Acton Road. Bramford made it tough for themselves again with chances going begging but scored at vital times to beat Wickham by 4 goals in this league game.
Bramford started brightly and scored with in 43 seconds of the start, a perfectly weighted ball from Grant who was playing in a more advanced role today, played a through ball to Josh who went 1 on 1 with the keeper and blasted it at goal for the keeper to get a touch, but still find the back of the net. 1-0.
More chances came and went, Lewie and James were bossing the midfield well and were well on top, Bramford played the ball around nicely and played from the back. Some neat build up play from Bramford kept creating chances and when Grant again played Josh in, Josh made no mistake to make 2-0 into the far corner. 2-0.
The last 15 minutes of the first half was petty much all Wickham but the Bramford defence stayed strong and took the 2-0 lead in at the break.
Wickham started strong again in the 2nd half and when a long ball over the top Wickham got themselves back in it, but this time a routine header back to Joel from Reece hit the top part of his head to lob Joel and into the the net. An unlucky goal to give away. 2-1.
From then Bramford pushed on and the introduction of Logan on the left of midfield and Grant move back to left back saw Wickham Market's Right back in more danger than not, and when Georges shot looked to be heading wide, Logan slid in to volley it home at the back post within 5 minutes of being on. 3-1.
And then just a minute later, Logan retuned the favour to George by providing a low driven cross across the box for George to Volley in from 8 yards. 4-1.
Joel made a good save in the Bramford goal when the Wickham forward had a full volley inside the area which then pounced on. On 74 minutes Reece had possession and played a under hit back pass to Joel when the Wickham forward jumped in and hit home from 15 yards in a 1 on 1 with Joel. 4-2.
Wickham had a little spell of their own and blocks from Tom and Reece at the back made sure Joel didnt have anything heading to much towards his goal, but when Ben Crush had time to turn on the edge Joel did well to push the ball round the post.
Good build up play from Bramford again as they got the ball on the deck and played it around again and when Josh chipped a ball over to George. George then controlled well cut back inside and vollied home his 2nd and his 5th of the season. 5-2.
On 84 minutes Josh completed his hat-trick and Bramford's 6th of the day, when he hit home from in the area to round off a good day for Bramford. 6-2.
